Power Flex Rear Beam Tensioning Kit - bigtone0777 - 28-08-2013 What do these do, how do they fit and are they worth having? http://www.powerflex.co.uk/road-series/product-details/Rear+Beam+Mount+Tensioning+Kit/681.html RE: Power Flex Rear Beam Tensioning Kit - Piggy - 28-08-2013 they do what they say they do!!!! but generally considered crap and not worth it. I am, and I think another owner is, working with powerflex to make some proper rear uprated bushes. Just can't figure out how/where they fit to figure out how they actually add tension to the beam. Don't think I'll bother lol RE: Power Flex Rear Beam Tensioning Kit - Piggy - 28-08-2013 they fit in the gaps in the rear bushes on the rear beam. peanut shaped gaps RE: Power Flex Rear Beam Tensioning Kit - bigtone0777 - 28-08-2013 (28-08-2013, 03:59 PM)Piggy Wrote: they fit in the gaps in the rear bushes on the rear beam. Ahh............makes sense! Cheers RE: Power Flex Rear Beam Tensioning Kit - Tom - 28-08-2013 Theres no reason why they wouldnt work, but i would of thought a set of proper solid beam mounts would be better. RE: Power Flex Rear Beam Tensioning Kit - Bender - 28-08-2013 For the price well worth getting to stiffen the beam a bit more or if old ones are getting knackered and no funds to buy solid ones. RE: Power Flex Rear Beam Tensioning Kit - bigtone0777 - 28-08-2013 I'm not really too fussed, just thought if they made a good difference they would be worth buying for the price :-) RE: Power Flex Rear Beam Tensioning Kit - Piggy - 28-08-2013 when you see them, you realise what a bodge they are.... .however I will be fitting mine, I will try and sort some pics for you, while I wait for powerflex to work on full replacement bushes RE: Power Flex Rear Beam Tensioning Kit - puglove - 28-08-2013 thats shit concept of stiffening up your passive rear steer , ![]() Re: RE: Power Flex Rear Beam Tensioning Kit - bigtone0777 - 28-08-2013 (28-08-2013, 04:40 PM)Bender Wrote: For the price well worth getting to stiffen the beam a bit more or if old ones are getting knackered and no funds to buy solid ones. My mounts are fine, just couldn't work out the concept of these and if they were really worthwhile. Re: Power Flex Rear Beam Tensioning Kit - SKoob - 28-08-2013 Look at my project and you'll see these fitted. They go in the little gaps on the square beam mounts, screw through the top to hold them in. Car felt a bit more stable while still having a bit of rear steer. They are a half way house between standard and solid mounts really Edited to attach pics ![]() ![]() ![]() RE: Power Flex Rear Beam Tensioning Kit - miles - 28-08-2013 Better off buying some new mounts, Or just stick some hard setting rtv in the hole RE: Power Flex Rear Beam Tensioning Kit - bigtone0777 - 29-08-2013 (28-08-2013, 07:15 PM)SKoob Wrote: Look at my project and you'll see these fitted. RE: Power Flex Rear Beam Tensioning Kit - Piggy - 29-08-2013 not really. the rear mounts when new still flex in your hand...they do that for a reason, the passive rear steer. the little inserts almost wipe out that movement. If they were the price of peanuts(!) it be ok...but they too expensive at rrp for my liking |
