Finding Engine Number - bigcheez2k3 - 15-08-2013 Insurance company are asking for my engine number, I guess so they can confirm it's a 1.9 XUD that's been swapped into it, but I'm having trouble locating it. I read this thread http://306oc.co.uk/forum/thread-10685.html?highlight=%22engine+number%22 Which would tell me it's here I should be looking, but doesn't seem to be anything there on my engine. I'll give it a go, have already had a go at it with the wire brush to get it looking like that. But I was lucky to have a small metal tab just up from the starter, towards the diesel pump (in behind the injector lines) stating the number. Do you have one? Can't quite see from your pictures. What should an engine number look like? Would it be DHY followed by 7 numbers?
