for those of you with megane splitters.... - rtha6551 - 27-07-2013 Ended up picking a megane splitter up for my ph3 as there's no way I'm paying £30+ for a Cupra one! End of the day its a bit of plastic and not worth those prices imo ![]() How did anyone else fit/trim theirs? Mine is wide enough but the edges at the sides of the bumper flare outwards so need bending inwards to sit flush, but then this causes a kink in the splitter pushing it downwards from the bumper and towards the ground. Do I need to cut sections away from the middle of the splitter to allow it to bend or is it as simple as screwing a section at a time in then flexing it to fit forcefully, as if its screwed in then it can't bend surely? Also finally did you just use the existing holes for the GTi splitter? I was just going to use these and self tappers Thanks RE: for those of you with megane splitters.... - John1.4 - 29-07-2013 not on a 306 but I used to have 1 on my ax, I just centered it on the bumper, and drove self tappers thru, it did kink a bit but was ok when the next screw went in, then just chop off the excess, if you find that it kinks too much you can cut triangles into it so it can flex more, but you shouldn't have to... ![]() RE: for those of you with megane splitters.... - Piggy - 29-07-2013 use a heat gun too to just warm it a bit on the kinks as you put each self tapper in RE: for those of you with megane splitters.... - Ed Doe - 29-07-2013 Mine came fitted from the factory.... Owait RE: for those of you with megane splitters.... - Niall - 29-07-2013 You dont need to do anything with it except trim the ends down. When i fitted mine, i put a self tapper right in the middle into the bumper then worked my way out to the ends making sure to use loads round the bends forming it to shape. It will be fine when all fixed in place. |
