Branded or Universal Back Box? - MRiches - 24-07-2013 Just want a quick census on which I should go for. In the process of maybe or maybe not buying a second hand sportex back box from Pugmarshall. "PERFORMANCE BACK BOX EXHAUST BP51" Firstly would it be an easy fit to my 1.8 XS as the website says "306 07/1997-2001 2.0i XSi / GTi-6 / S16 Hatchback" ? Asking price is very reasonable considering the brand but don't want to get if it doesn't fit OR If Universal back boxes are fine. For example: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PEUGEOT-306-307-308-309-4007-405-UNIVERSAL-PERFORMANCE-EXHAUST-BACK-BOX-LMS-003-/150875941659?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2320e82b1b Cheaper as you would expect for universal stuff but are they decent or a pile of wank? I'm looking more for just a nice sound really and my current one is rusted to shit. Cheers. RE: Branded or Universal Back Box? - Tom - 24-07-2013 Universal stuff might not fit without some modification. I'd keep a lookout for a decent second hand exhaust forsale. Bet if you post in the wanted section a few people will have one going. Well if marshalls fits ill be taking that off his hands just unsure! The link I posted shows the universal comes with a pipe for fitting and a clamp so I assume it would fit? RE: Branded or Universal Back Box? - Matt - 24-07-2013 That looks bodgetastic! Will have to sleeve the exhaust as there will be no flange as such Also hangers will be shit, not welded and move about/rattle a lot Petrol/diesel boxes are diff. Petrol box on a diesel is restrictive so how have they accounted for this? For that price you could pick up a half decent second hand bit of kit RE: Branded or Universal Back Box? - lolsteve - 24-07-2013 "BRAND NEW BOXED AND COMES WITH A UNIVERSAL FITTING KIT FOR ALL ALFA ROMEO" After the cost of having some welding done to make it fit the current exhaust system you might as well go for a second hander RE: Branded or Universal Back Box? - Midnightclub - 24-07-2013 Would a gti6 catback fit the 1.8? I've got a sportex catback in the shed which I need to get rid of RE: Branded or Universal Back Box? - Niall - 24-07-2013 (24-07-2013, 06:45 PM)Midnightclub Wrote: Would a gti6 catback fit the 1.8?
