My GTi6 - TrinityJayOne - 19-07-2013 Putting up some pics of my GTi6, Josephine. Bought it as my first car (!!!) about 2mths ago. Previous owner had the timing belt break early and bent half the valves. He couldn't be stuffed getting it fixed and offloaded it a French specialist mechanic who planned to get it back in working order and keep it for himself, that is until I was put onto him and made an offer. The mechanic was pretty full-on about getting it in tip-top condition so a lot of stuff was outright replaced (brake rotors & pads, shocks, timing belt, pumps, etc) and the head was machined when the valves were getting done...wish I had the pics he showed me of that! I've done about 3,000km in it now and the oil is still clean enough to put back in the bottle and resell. Hoping to get many, many more miles of grin-inducing motoring in the years to come. RE: My GTi6 - MissTap_GTI6 - 19-07-2013 This is a tidy little GTi, kudos. But, this is your first car?? Amaz RE: My GTi6 - jammapic - 19-07-2013 Very original! Nice. RE: My GTi6 - Niall - 19-07-2013 Wow that's bloody clean! RE: My GTi6 - TrinityJayOne - 19-07-2013 (19-07-2013, 09:12 AM)MissTap_GTI6 Wrote: This is a tidy little GTi, kudos. That it is. I'm 30yo but only got my license this year as circumstances had never been right before. I'm a bit of a petrolhead so didn't want to be getting around in some gutless shitbox Corolla. I've always had a thing for the 306, and a GTi6 was within my budget as Euro cars tend to have a poor reputation in Australia and are priced accordingly. Everyone else's loss. RE: My GTi6 - ginge191 - 19-07-2013 Ah. You're in Australia! Good effort! Hence the green P. I was assuming that was a track parking sticker or something, a recently passed sticker makes things a lot clearer! Clean car!! RE: My GTi6 - TrinityJayOne - 19-07-2013 Those pics are from when I first got her home, but winter + black means she's not so clean anymore. Every time I washed it would rain for days later that week, so I gave up. I've just recently moved to a house with a garage though I'll have to get off my arse and clearn her up again soon. RE: My GTi6 - NottsPug - 26-07-2013 even new engines don't look that clean lol RE: My GTi6 - Piggy - 27-07-2013 looks sweet! welcome cant imagine we have too many aussies on this fourm! RE: My GTi6 - DTurboTom - 26-11-2013 Tidy car RE: My GTi6 - TrinityJayOne - 26-11-2013 Thanks! She still runs beautifully. Here's a more recent pic- I plastidipped the wheels black a month ago, though I hadn't yet cleaned the overspray on the rubber when I took this. She looks phenomenal with black rims if you ask me! The vinyls on the side rear windows read 'Parlez-vous Peugeot?' RE: My GTi6 - mcvite - 27-11-2013 Nice looking gti-6 you have there RE: My GTi6 - Just Sean - 27-11-2013 Which part of oz you from mate? RE: My GTi6 - TrinityJayOne - 27-11-2013 Melbourne, Victoria. I don't think I've ever seen a sedan here and I'm not sure if we even got the estate. RE: My GTi6 - Grant - 08-12-2013 That looks mint mate! Cracking example! RE: My GTi6 - Nadine - 08-12-2013 amazing i love this!!! Black is the best colour in a 6, hope to have mine looking as amazing as this. Good effort |
