Remove the hard brake pipe and unbolt mate.

Two big bolts on the inside of the mounting bracket (round the back of the calliper when looking from next to the car) remove those and the calliper will come off in one Smile

The firther in the arch?

Re: Removing rear disc calipers - mark_airey - 14-02-2012

the two that go through the sliders, the two holes on this one

If you remove the other 2 big bolts though that removes the pads out if the way too Smile

Yeh they will have thread lock on them as well so get a bar on there

Re: Removing rear disc calipers - Foxy-jim - 14-02-2012

One is off. Will do the second one then time to rebuild and lower! Whats the easiest way to get the trailing arms back in?

Removing rear disc calipers - Jonny b - 14-02-2012

Same way you got em off ha ha big hammer lol

Removing rear disc calipers - Jonny b - 14-02-2012

Though probably not best, wait for anpther suggestion ha ha couldn't get mine all the way on without it though ha ha

Re: Removing rear disc calipers - Foxy-jim - 14-02-2012

I cant even get it to sit at a height. It just keep sagging down!

Removing rear disc calipers - Jonny b - 14-02-2012

Did you mark the arm before taking it off, it will only go in 40 mm ish increments

Re: Removing rear disc calipers - Foxy-jim - 14-02-2012

Ye I measured how far it sat normally.

Re: Removing rear disc calipers - mark_airey - 14-02-2012

As Jonny says, (unless you have removed the torsion bar fully, which I guess you haven't) you can only adjust it in 40mm ish increments!

Re: Removing rear disc calipers - Jonny b - 14-02-2012

hold it in the sort of position you want then wiggle it around it will go on

Re: Removing rear disc calipers - Foxy-jim - 15-02-2012

Got the brakes off, pulled the torsion bars right out, then re-inserted but had to hammer a bit to get them on!

Re: Removing rear disc calipers - Toms306 - 15-02-2012

You probably already know but just incase, the piston will need to be wound back in on rear calipers rather than just pushed when you come to put them back together. Smile

Re: Removing rear disc calipers - Foxy-jim - 15-02-2012

Didn't know that. They are on now. Will see what happens!

Unless you fit new pads &/or discs they shouldn't need moving at all and will just bolt back on though Smile

Re: Removing rear disc calipers - Foxy-jim - 15-02-2012

They just went straight on!

In which case don't worry about it, just remember it if you fit new pads lol

Re: Removing rear disc calipers - Foxy-jim - 15-02-2012

Will do! Just been for a drive and they were absolutely fine!

True, if it was me I'd have probably whacked some new pads in at the same time though, unless they're fairly new already.

Re: Removing rear disc calipers - Foxy-jim - 16-02-2012

They have fairly new discs and pads already. Don't see the point in spending money pointlessly when I don't need too!

Thats alright then, I only meant if they were old and shite (like the ones on most 306s lol!)

Re: Removing rear disc calipers - Foxy-jim - 16-02-2012

Haha ye that's cool. Na if they were bad I would have changed them. Would rear do things properly then make it a death trap!
