Heater bypass - Mikey - 08-07-2013 Hi, Can someone tell me if it is ok to by pass the heater or not, I thought it was a normal thing to do if the heater core was leaking, also does that coolant smell go if you do it. Thanks. RE: Heater bypass - puglove - 09-07-2013 Im sure there is a tread around here that explains why its not a good idea. Im sure i didnt dream it RE: Heater bypass - Grant - 09-07-2013 clicky RE: Heater bypass - Mikey - 09-07-2013 (09-07-2013, 06:03 AM)Grant Wrote: clicky Thanks for the thread, it sounds like it could be a problem unless you put the right restriction in the line. RE: Heater bypass - Grant - 09-07-2013 That is what I have been led to believe. Out of curiosity, why are you bypassing it? RE: Heater bypass - puglove - 09-07-2013 Im guessing because he CBA to change the leaky matrix RE: Heater bypass - Mikey - 09-07-2013 (09-07-2013, 09:13 AM)puglove Wrote: Im guessing because he CBA to change the leaky matrix I only want to bypass it for a few months to hopefully stop the coolant smell and then when the weather warms up and there is more daylight and I will change the matrix. What about radiator sealants, do they work for a while or do they cause other problems? RE: Heater bypass - puglove - 09-07-2013 Uuhh what?? You aint going to get any longer days or warmer weather than we have now :S RE: Heater bypass - Mikey - 09-07-2013 (09-07-2013, 12:23 PM)puglove Wrote: Uuhh what?? I chucked some radweld in mine to sort the leaky matrix. Not an ideal thing to do but did the job. Just change the matrix ![]() |
