scrapyard scavenger - lee52 - 28-06-2013 in my local scrappy they have a couple of xsara,s one vts/vtr and the other is erm green lol anyways they both have disc beams and both look to be in very good order so the question is will the beam fit my 306 is the xsara beam the same track width etc, also could i use the xsara handbreak cables. i havent looked at the front ends yet but i take it they will have a bigger brake setup than my stock dturbo discs so would discs and calipers/carrier bolt str8 on to my 306 cheers RE: scrapyard scavenger - samass - 28-06-2013 Yes and yes, it will also be an upgrade if you go for the vts one as the torsion bars and anti roll bars are thicker .100% go for it RE: scrapyard scavenger - lee52 - 29-06-2013 (28-06-2013, 11:56 PM)samass Wrote: Yes and yes, it will also be an upgrade if you go for the vts one as the torsion bars and anti roll bars are thickerspot on is there any other bits worth getting front struts etc... the vts is complete so ripe for the picking RE: scrapyard scavenger - samass - 29-06-2013 Front struts and springs will be better than your standard dt ones if they're in good nick, obviously if they're f*cked and leaking or anything then don't bother. Might as well grab the entire braking system, including the master cylinder, it should all be upgrades over dt spec. RE: scrapyard scavenger - samass - 29-06-2013 I think it'll sit a bit lower, but don't quite me on that, I can't quite remember Also, if it's crash damaged, make sure nothing you get is bent or nowt obviously You will need the 15s if you get the brakes, they won't fit under the stock 14s. And i don't think you'll need spacers, but not 100% sure RE: scrapyard scavenger - lee52 - 29-06-2013 (29-06-2013, 07:05 AM)samass Wrote: I think it'll sit a bit lower, but don't quite me on that, I can't quite rememberthe car isnt crash damage at all ( been paint stripped and kicked to fudge) so all the running should be good gonna have a good look today |
