Has anyone tried things like Slick 50 power steering leak stopper ?? think I may have a leak, but with legs on crutches, bit hard to check it out right now, thought this may be a stop gap thing.

Not an ideal solution. How much is it leaking by? If it is at such a rate that you cannot wait 'till you are in good health, there must be a substantial amount of oil somewhere. Perhaps get a friend or relative to take a peek for you.

Where are you based?

Thanks for the offers, but we,re in the far ne of scotland. Dont use the car much at the moment..it just leaves a mark on the drive Due to health it will either be laid up soon or sold off.

For the price of a bottle of that stuff you could probably buy a second hand whatever it is that's leaking

may just be something simple. can you get to lift bonnet and take a few pics to show us?

slick 50 was only £5...i'll see if it helps first. Car has hardly moved in last 3 years, so seals were possibly a bit dry.

Ah, that may have something to do with it lol.
