Also do you do mobile? If so do you use a small van or car? also where do you get your sorce of water from? Clients house of you have a tank? Re: Today's cars - rocker8742 - 27-06-2013 Kent check his Nad van project thread ![]() RE: Today's cars - ginge191 - 27-06-2013 Dang! Some amazing detailing there! Re: RE: Today's cars - kentiiboii - 27-06-2013 (27-06-2013, 06:53 PM)rocker8742 Wrote: Kent check his Nad van project thread Thats anwsered one question. I was thinking of a van. I didnt want to make it a everyday thing though. I love my job atm and I have high hopes for it. But the money isnt enough atm, I love detailing its really theopeutric (I think thats how its spelt). Also the rewards of finishing a car is just amazing. My cleaning kit keeps growing and growing. Each day im learning more new great stuff. I already spend hours a time cleaning my own car. A present to my mrs when she had her first car was a full valet. Lovely little red corsa which when id finished got so much praise from people that never knew a car could be that clean. It even got me a few people wanting there's doing. RE: Today's cars - Jenkosowls - 27-06-2013 Prices wise I don't discuss really as every car is different and people expect different things so most services are tailor made so is the price. On the detailing side of things actual physical detailing isn't popular only around 30% of people you'll see will actual go for a detailing option. If you try to do just physical detailing exterior wise you'll never get off the ground you need a valet option. Most people will just ask "what's your price for a full valet" this absolutely does my nut in this is a term used by quick car washes. A valet is the interior being cleaned! Interior valets you can generally have a set price on it. But best advice is to ask of condition ie mud pets smoking etc as this can really hamper profits time wise. I do my work from a van now but prior it was just from back of a car. Most people don't mind using there utilities some prefer it rather than having noisy generators chugging away. I simply use a van now as its a constant advertisement and I carry allot more specialist gear now than I use to. As it stands I offer 10 different services and each service can be boosted so to speak. The biggest problem you'll come across is quick hand car washes you need to justify to people why your better than them as all people see is a price difference. And what's your preferred pad and compound combination for hard paint? I currently use just a cheap £60 rotary name slips my mind. You don't really need a branded one as its the pads and polishes that do the work. I currently use a 50mm foam backing plate with 5.5inch menzerna pads good and cheap you can really abuse them and clean them real easy in warm water sqrunching them. I also recommend using menzerna compounds. Most German manufacturers comision them to produce polishes the tackle there clear coats. May as well update as well some of these are crappy iPhone pics till I can get the proper camera connected up. Here we have a rough Astra coupe hadn't been touched in 2 years spent 5 hours on the inside alone thanks to a horrible beige carpets and leather interior. The paint is a really nice dark blue with a stunning blue flake in the paint something is love to get my hands on properly! Was treated to the restore service ![]() Then a shogun sport being a commercial vehicle the paint work is oretty much a blow over then done the orange peel is horrific and distorted the light. The Marty's blue gave it some good gloss but wasn't cutting it at all I trialled the Marty's white on top of the blue and the lines of the car was coming through to give some pretty cool reflective shots. This was treated to the Decontamination+ service ![]() Then a shot of a corsa sport This was treated to the restore service although the paint wax pretty good so opted for a zymol cleaner wax which contains light abrasives which brings up mirror finishes guaranteed. followed up with nattys blue ![]() RE: Today's cars - Jenkosowls - 20-08-2013 Some recent cars some of the interesting ones First up Dannys DT 30+ Piant Correction for FCS ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Then an Audi a3 Quattro With the Protect Service ![]() ![]() ![]() Then A Golf R32 Protect Service ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Audi A3 Tdi S-line Paint Correction Service ![]() ![]() ![]() Wasnt happy couldnt get the gloss right so made a quick walk around video ![]() RE: Today's cars - Jenkosowls - 11-10-2013 Done quiet allot recently but here are a few if the more interesting ones Audi A4 S line Restore service ![]() ![]() Honda Crv Winter protection ![]() Range Rover Vogue Winter Protection ![]() ![]() Lexus CT200H Protect Service ![]() ![]() Subaru Impreza WRXs Winter Protection ![]() ![]() Subaru Impreza sti Classic Wagon Winter protection ![]() ![]() Carbon Kevlar bonnet... ![]() The Impreza wagon has just had a £40k ground up build.
