GTI nissens RAD - puglove - 25-06-2013

So iv got a nissens rad from a ph3 gti6 now the bottom left connection is different ...... now is this because it different between ph2 & 3 or am I missing a reducer or something?

RE: GTI nissens RAD - Matt - 25-06-2013

Pretty sure phase 2&3 are different. Sure you could bodge it though Smile

RE: GTI nissens RAD - Grant - 25-06-2013

The fitting is different. PH3 has a metal ring with a securing clip, PH2 and 1 has a 2 plastic clips on the hose. Easy enough to change the hose, its just clipped to the back of the block Smile

They wont fit cross phases.

The hose or the rad?

And Peugeot are wankers!! why the f*ck change something stupid like that

RE: GTI nissens RAD - Grant - 25-06-2013

You said it, they're wankers.

If you have a PH2 rad, then fir the PH2 hose. If you have a PH3 rad then fir the PH3 hose. The hoses will fit cross phases, but the rads will not, unless you change the hose. It clips on the lower side of the drivers chasis leg round to the rear of the block.

RE: GTI nissens RAD - cully - 25-06-2013

had the same problem fitting my replacment rad

old rad had a plastic clipped bottom hose
newer rad had a metle ended wire clip bottom hose

lucky enough i got the bottom hose with the replacement rad

changed the hose and the rad to match

RE: GTI nissens RAD - puglove - 25-06-2013

AAhh what a bugger im not going to get that done tomorrow night then :/

RE: GTI nissens RAD - cully - 25-06-2013

think the metal bottom hose is a pug part too

part number 1351 Z3 but do check!

RE: GTI nissens RAD - puglove - 25-06-2013

Can get one of my mates spare 6, but just gotta get over there

whats the engine block hose clip like?

RE: GTI nissens RAD - lewisdmz - 25-06-2013

Later metal ended push fit hose (suitable for Nissens radiators) - 1351ZV AND 1351Z3
Older plastic wing fitting - 1351X9

Cully is correct

RE: GTI nissens RAD - Grant - 25-06-2013

Just a normal crimp clip. One you squeeze with pliers to slacken then it springs back when you let go. Same as top rad hose Smile

RE: GTI nissens RAD - puglove - 26-06-2013

Ooohh that should be fun around the back of the block lol

RE: GTI nissens RAD - cully - 26-06-2013

easy! acsses is good if you remove the drivers wheel
end of the pipe is right in front just above the waterpump Wink

RE: GTI nissens RAD - puglove - 26-06-2013

Ah that makes me feel a little better as its currently sat like this ready to recive its new shafts.

RE: GTI nissens RAD - Piggy - 26-06-2013

why the bloody hell did pug have to make it so difficult in the first place? !

would a jubilee clip have been so difficult! ?

RE: GTI nissens RAD - Mrs puglove - 26-06-2013

RE: GTI nissens RAD - puglove - 26-06-2013

If i dont moan on here i wont be able to post anything??? lmao

RE: GTI nissens RAD - Grant - 26-06-2013

MTFU its not hard. Undo 3 clips on the chassis leg, pinch a clip with some pliers. Reverse the procedure for refitting the hose. Radiator, well youve got it off so your probably clever enough to put it back on

:p

RE: GTI nissens RAD - Piggy - 26-06-2013

pinch a clip with pliers?! wish it was that simple!!!

RE: GTI nissens RAD - Grant - 26-06-2013

It was last time I did it Wink

RE: GTI nissens RAD - puglove - 26-06-2013

IF you can even get a set of pliers in there any sence

RE: GTI nissens RAD - cully - 26-06-2013
