Bosch pump - Matt - 20-06-2013 How can I return the pump to standard position? I have no idea what fueling it's at etc so would really like to be able to set it up properly What amount of thread is visible at a standard on the fuel screw? Sure I read somewhere 1/2 to 1 full turn of the screw if good. And the turn the turbo up. Add fuel till it coals, then back it off? RE: Bosch pump - cwspellowe - 20-06-2013 Wastegate, then fuel. Think of it like saturating the air you produce with fuel. You can hit 20psi fine, but without much fuel. Then just turn the fuel up until you get a slight haze on boost. You'll still be making 20psi just with more fuel and therefore more powaaah. Think you're thinking of the ol' "stage 1" style tune like on Darren's video, when people played it safe by counting turns etc. Counting turns gives you a good rough idea of what's going on but the best way to do it is turn some screws and get driving. RE: Bosch pump - ginge191 - 20-06-2013 Matt, if you want a mild tuning, gareth can help you out, he tuned up his bosch when it was running in his rover. had some good results ![]() RE: Bosch pump - Matt - 20-06-2013 Sweet Ill give Gareth a message tonight and see when he is free ![]() RE: Bosch pump - ginge191 - 20-06-2013 (20-06-2013, 01:55 PM)Matt Wrote: Sweet Ill give Gareth a message tonight and see when he is free good man; he knows to gimmie a call if he's forgot ![]() RE: Bosch pump - Matt - 20-06-2013 Haha I kinda know the ins and outs of it now, just need someone to give me a hand looking at things while I turn things lol RE: Bosch pump - Curt - 20-06-2013 You're so technical RE: Bosch pump - ginge191 - 20-06-2013 feel your pain; i asked niall over the other week whilst i changed a starter motor, he gives me the confidence to do it! RE: Bosch pump - Matt - 20-06-2013 Haha I'm very technical it's the twisty but in the middle the the metal bit! Has two twisty bits makes more things fall off your car! Haha yeah I have no confidence with this engine I know in theory what I need to do so need someone with me to tell me I haven't broke it RE: Bosch pump - WiNgNuTz - 20-06-2013 I can kinda sympathise with you matt, even though I'm still only using the crappy lucas pump. I'm pretty sure the waste gate on mine is giving up, as i seem to be lacking the boost it used to have, added to the fact that the old girl does seem to smoke quite a bit on full chat now. RE: Bosch pump - Matt - 20-06-2013 Mine smokes a lot, Samass turned the turbo up, but then told me after he can't remember which way he turned it lol, so I'm gunna turn the turbo up and fuel etc and see what happens, give it a service and crack on! I just need someone to watch me, and help when I adjust the hot/cold idle and try and sort my throttle cable. Need a girl with me too as my hands are too huge to fit most places in the engine bay haha RE: Bosch pump - Mattcheese31 - 20-06-2013 (20-06-2013, 03:07 PM)Matt Wrote: Mine smokes a lot, Samass turned the turbo up, but then told me after he can't remember which way he turned it lol, so I'm gunna turn the turbo up and fuel etc and see what happens, give it a service and crack on! narr it's your tiny penis that's made you think your hands are big . . ![]() RE: Bosch pump - Matt - 20-06-2013 ![]() RE: Bosch pump - scottbmxer - 21-06-2013 (20-06-2013, 03:53 PM)Matt Wrote: where you from matt? RE: Bosch pump - Matt - 22-06-2013 From Isle of Wight, it's okay I know how, was just wondering if anyone knew the exact measurement etc RE: Bosch pump - raziel - 22-06-2013 This may help you for approximately adjustment.
