A2 DT project - fishsuffolk - 14-06-2013 So we can make anything.... Give me some ideas please people! So far thinking of designing /developing an extra low trolley jack (for low cars like Caterhams, or slammed stuff!) Cheers guys RE: A2 DT project - cwspellowe - 14-06-2013 ![]() Dafuq did i just read? RE: A2 DT project - Ruan - 14-06-2013 Increased strength billet roller rockers for 8v and 16v HDi engines? RE: A2 DT project - Dum-Dum - 14-06-2013 You couldnt design a low entry jack much lower than whats already on the market (about 80mm) without compromising strength and anything really lowtends to be light enough to use a non hydraulic race jack that is probably less than 20mm high RE: A2 DT project - Niall - 14-06-2013 (14-06-2013, 11:15 AM)Dum-Dum Wrote: You couldnt design a low entry jack much lower than whats already on the market (about 80mm) without compromising strength and anything really lowtends to be light enough to use a non hydraulic race jack that is probably less than 20mm high This. Manafacturers would already make them if it was possible to make them safely without costing shit loads. The only good thing that can ever be done with a A2 is its crushed. They are crap cars! Actually, that's not a bad idea, do it for your project! RE: A2 DT project - Poodle - 15-06-2013 Niall, are you aware of just how much of a technological achievement the a2 was at the time of release? Miles ahead of it's time, which is why you barely see any about. Thats like saying id love to go balls deep in Susan Boyle just because she may have a degree in sociology. ![]() RE: A2 DT project - Grant - 15-06-2013 Why miles ahead? Apart from being aluminium and economically more advanced than others? Still looks gash as f*ck. I have to go back to college to redo mine as the expire after 5 years and are not recognised by anyone. Bullshit! A-levels don't seem to count for much either these days. I have five, Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and General Studies (if that even counts ![]() RE: A2 DT project - Niall - 15-06-2013 (15-06-2013, 08:13 PM)Grant Wrote: Why miles ahead? RE: A2 DT project - Grant - 15-06-2013 TBF CF or FG is far more interesting, not to mention light. Now thats a big thing! lol RE: A2 DT project - Niall - 15-06-2013 (15-06-2013, 08:24 PM)Grant Wrote: TBF CF or FG is far more interesting, not to mention light. Now thats a big thing! lol But neither are very safe in a crash so not really suitable for a road going vehicle. All that aside though, its still a f*cking ugly car! RE: A2 DT project - Grant - 15-06-2013 Amen to that! RE: A2 DT project - Poodle - 16-06-2013 It is f*ck-ugly, granted lol. The whole design, the aero-dynamics, the engine placement, the interior design, use of materials, the access panel at the front with all your service items, literally the whole design from the ground up was brilliant. Features first seen on this car ten years ago are beginning to be commonplace on brand new cars at the upper end of the market. |
