Drove a standard 406 hdi today!! Fully standard 406 in mint condition, never messed with, just has tinted windows and wind deflectors .... knind of thinking of buying it

2nd 40ish can touch 50 @ 5k
3rd 60ish can touch 70 @ 5k
4th 80ish, 90ish @5k
5th 115 @4k, whippy map so its not got the fuel to push past 4k

5th gear is 131mph at 4500rpm
3rd is nearer 80mph at 5k
4th is over 100mph

Mapping can't change your gear ratios dude...
Connor, yours doesn't use half the rev band because whippy mapped it, will stop pulling long before the rev limiter.
Mine isn't far off the figures dum-dum quotes, but a standard hdi will struggle to get much past 4000rpm in 3rd, 4th and 5th.

Yep on a standard HDi 90 gearbox, the car was tuned to 160bhp+ but all the stage 2 cars should see 131mph at 4500rpm

Yep on a standard HDi 90 gearbox, the car was tuned to 160bhp+ but all the stage 2 cars should see 131mph at 4500rpm
Im talking about a 90bhp not mapped in anyway. Just drove a hdi and done about 80 in 4th!! That about right?

For a standard HDi that sounds about right, fuelling drops right off after 4k, which would be about 80mph in 4th.

never really thought to check what speeds the sedan will do in each gear, with the 2.1 1st is pretty much pointless, 2nd is mostly wheel spin so 3rd is the main acceleration gear then 4th and 5th are just there to decide how much over the speedlimit you want to go haha

Did a few tests tonight
2000rpm in 2nd is ~20mph
2000rpm in 3rd is ~33mph
2000rpm in 4th is ~45mph
2000rpm in 5th is ~60mph

your gonna love it, be prepared for some strange looks from people when your just trying to pull out of a wet junction though haha. super economy though, 40mph in 5th gear is 800rpm haha
