Boost drop - C.A.R. - 09-06-2013

As title really, over the last week since getting the car back in 'rag-able' condition with the new driveshaft I've noticed peak boost seems to have dropped a couple of psi?

Was hitting 12-13 on a stack gauge but now barely breaking 10 and it feels sluggish. Pulls to the redline but certainly with less oomph.

The previous owner disconnected the EGR valve at the solenoid but didn't fit the blank cos it was awkward. I'm curious as to whether this could be an issue?

Blank in hand (and some gasket sealant) hopefully will fit it today and see if anything is resolved.

yes can be an issue as i have found on mine
has the MPG dropped too with more smoke out the back?

Hard to tell because I've been driving it gently on the knackered driveshaft for a week. No more black smoke than usual. Will be interesting to see if it makes any difference at all...

Well, fitted the EGR Blank today. Got two chances I guess, we'll see tomorrow!

which end did you blank?
i blanked mine at the inlet end as it is a little easyer to acsess

Inlet end (I think?!) the one from the guide you wrote anyway. Next to the ECU there. Hilariously little access.

So the turbo is connected directly to the inlet manifold?

My point being that a hdi does not run an intercooler, which when changing driveshafts would be likely to get knocked. So ner :p

No more likely then the existing boost pipes

Their isn't any original boost pipes in the driveshaft area!

The turbo is right above the os driveshaft Sean.
