New car! - Poodle - 11-02-2012

After a seriously hectic week i finally sorted a car today, here she is:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/390361844980?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

Tiny amount of chassis rust and a little oil leak, but otherwise spot on. Managed to get 3 months tax, new aux belt and rear pads chucked in too.

So, wotcha think?

Re: New car! - 4WayDiablo - 11-02-2012

I know people love these cars because theyre retro but i think they really show its age

Re: New car! - smanfa - 11-02-2012

How can I say thats ugly in a nice way? Lol Smile x

Re: New car! - kingy - 11-02-2012

mate, millage and price? hope your gonna slam it 3mm from the ground with some 9j wheels. what are your plans for it? looks tidy though. trying to be nice. lol. and its missing a parcel shelf.

Re: New car! - 4WayDiablo - 11-02-2012

Shoulda got a 306 :-)

Re: New car! - puglove - 11-02-2012

Epic mate I want one of these sooooooooooo bad ! Hope there are some mods in store Big Grin love it!

Re: New car! - puglove - 11-02-2012

Also you could sell those wheels in N.I for £1000

Re: New car! - Poodle - 11-02-2012

Hahaha, love all the people trying to be nice, cheers! Tongue Yeah they didn't age half as well as the 306 tbf, looks seriously outdated by comparison.

The price wasn't amazing, but was the best i've seen for the money. And mileage really doesn't matter to me, it runs nicely, that's all i'm bothered by.

It's going to be a daily driver so no mods, unfortunately. Well, apart from the obvious pump and turbo tweaks, of course lol. Will only be a mild tune though, need this one to stay working!

Tell me more about selling the wheels...?

Re: New car! - 4WayDiablo - 11-02-2012

Screw the pump out irish style!

Re: New car! - Foxy-jim - 11-02-2012

Just drop it!

Re: New car! - kingy - 11-02-2012

not being funny but couldnt you have found a dturbo for that money. dont get me wrong mate but for what ya paid surley you could have got summat slightly better?
it does look tidy but if it was my money i would have got something different. as a daily,? i think imo i would have chose summat different. everyone to their their own though mate and tbf its not that bad. swop the pump, slam it on banded steels and i will buy it off ya. lol. good look mate.

Re: New car! - 4WayDiablo - 11-02-2012

Sams dan just bought a dturbo for 600 and we won a 1999 hdi for 400 too

Re: New car! - Poodle - 11-02-2012

Lol cheers Kingy, it suits my purposes nicely.

I could have had a dturbo for £400, but it wasn't as in good condition and i need something that's going to last me. Plus no-one noticed it's a bosch with no cat as standard, so can run it on veg. Big Grin Haven't checked the turbo yet, but it spools around 2600rpm, so i'm guessing a t2?

Re: New car! - 4WayDiablo - 11-02-2012

Dunno but ginges kkk spools well late

aint got a clue about derv power mate tbt. would love a ph 1 dturbo though.

Haha I was gonna say the same thing!

Looks mint to me mate, i'd love a ZX for a daily!

Re: New car! - mark_airey - 11-02-2012

Looks grand for the money mate Smile nice buy, I like them, they are understated in a stealth sort of way Smile

I would think that it will also likely be a D8A/B engine being a ZX, get it tweaked up!

No offence but its this ^^. Still for what it is it looks in really good condition and at that price you cant really go wrong!

Re: New car! - Poodle - 11-02-2012

Fair enough, going to have to get into XUD's now it seems, oh noes..! ninja

kingy Wrote:aint got a clue about derv power mate tbt. would love a ph 1 dturbo though.

These things are close enough to being 306s that i'm happy, for now anyway lol. Means i get to treat the HDi as a project car; i'll be pulling the engine out as soon as the cabby's dealt with. Win!

Re: New car! - Foxy-jim - 11-02-2012

It isnt that bad really, just dated!

New car! - MarkTD - 11-02-2012

I like it Smile

Re: New car! - me-tm - 11-02-2012

Nobody's noticed the bloody big dent in the driver's side wing? lol

Re: New car! - Curt - 11-02-2012

^^ Because what's the point in being an arse?

Looks clean matey, meant to text you to see if you got one sorted, but I've lost my phone and therefore your number!

Did the 205 go for stupid money, or just decide it was best to get something with MOT?

New car! - Matt - 11-02-2012

Retro FTMFW!!!!! Nice one man, wanna swap your wheels? Haha

Re: New car! - bigcheez2k3 - 12-02-2012

Anyone else think this would be a thread from JJ0083(or whatever his name is)?

Re: New car! - Poodle - 12-02-2012

Heheh, was equally amazed no-one mentioned the dent tbf lol, don't care what it looks like, it just needs to go. Tongue

Curt, thought i'd text you about the 205, my bad, got a new number now? The 205 only went for £390, still kicking myself for not picking it up, but tbh I needed to take the sensible option. It would have been an amazing restoration project and probably made me a mint if i'd sold it on, but just too risky right now.

Sure thing Matt, since it's you say £300? ninja

New car! - Matt - 12-02-2012

Look at the size of the boot!!!! Lol

Also will a 306 interior fit? If so, half leathers is a must!!!!

Re: New car! - Curt - 12-02-2012

Ah no didn't get anything... Same number, just lost a lot of my contacts! Yeah that's fair enough, it would have been pretty cool, but definitely not the sensible option!

Re: New car! - Poodle - 12-02-2012

Will text you my number bud. Will be keeping an eye out for more in future though, as i should have a bit more spare cash soon. Smile

Hadn't thought of that Matt, hmmm...

Re: New car! - Curt - 12-02-2012

Sweet man. That'd be cool project for the future!

Oh and I can think of some red fleck S16 half leathers, which were modified for a 5 door whistle
