Worth getting a gt15 turbo? - Jimbo - 19-05-2013 I currently have a t2, someone I know is selling a gt15 I know there both standard fitment turbos, but is the gt 15 better than a t2 in any way. Only ask as I'm gonna have the turbo off in next few days for the hg change RE: Worth getting a gt15 turbo? - Ricky - 19-05-2013 Unless your T2 is dead, then not really. RE: Worth getting a gt15 turbo? - Mattcheese31 - 19-05-2013 not really mate . . . .T2 spools later but carries on giving much higher up . . ![]() RE: Worth getting a gt15 turbo? - ginge191 - 19-05-2013 GT15 has some nice low down, pulling power, as far as BHP goes, it's outta puff top end. A nice little turbo, and for the fun factor id swap it for the T2. ![]() RE: Worth getting a gt15 turbo? - Jimbo - 19-05-2013 As far as I know it's fine boosts well just a bit laggy with the fmic Is there any way of making the t2 spool a bit quicker RE: Worth getting a gt15 turbo? - Mattcheese31 - 19-05-2013 Ginge bums the GT15 fyi though, apparently where he lives you can't get over speeds of 50mph . . . . ![]() RE: Worth getting a gt15 turbo? - Mitch - 19-05-2013 I have a t2 on mine and a friend has a gt15 on his, gt15 spools up really good but as said above it runs out of puff top end, i wouldnt bother really if your t2 is in working order! ![]() RE: Worth getting a gt15 turbo? - ginge191 - 19-05-2013 (19-05-2013, 06:26 PM)Mattcheese31 Wrote: Ginge bums the GT15 fyi though, apparently where he lives you can't get over speeds of 50mph . . . . seeing as i run a T2 now and have ran a K14 and a K03 in the past, i can't say i bum the gt15, but i know i loove the epic low spoolers. ![]() RE: Worth getting a gt15 turbo? - Mattcheese31 - 19-05-2013 (19-05-2013, 06:47 PM)ginge191 Wrote:(19-05-2013, 06:26 PM)Mattcheese31 Wrote: Ginge bums the GT15 fyi though, apparently where he lives you can't get over speeds of 50mph . . . . ahhh was it a K03 on the Sigma then? . . . .i knew it was something GAF . . ![]() RE: Worth getting a gt15 turbo? - Jimbo - 19-05-2013 Gt15 good for 130bhp? That's sort of what im aiming for. Nothing to drastic just a reliable torquey DT RE: Worth getting a gt15 turbo? - Tom - 19-05-2013 T2 is laggy? Really? :/ RE: Worth getting a gt15 turbo? - ginge191 - 19-05-2013 (19-05-2013, 06:48 PM)Jimbo Wrote: Gt15 good for 130bhp? I'd say so - would be "pushing" the limit, but achieveable. Keep sensible EGT's and pressures, you should be ok. If you want that power bracket comfortably, keep the T2 RE: Worth getting a gt15 turbo? - Jimbo - 19-05-2013 (19-05-2013, 06:50 PM)Tom Wrote: T2 is laggy? RE: Worth getting a gt15 turbo? - Anton - 19-05-2013 If your really going through all the effort of changing the turbo, get a newer more modern turbo? Look at GT17/GT20, best of both worlds RE: Worth getting a gt15 turbo? - Tom - 19-05-2013 Haha what he said ^^^ Ok not him the one above! RE: Worth getting a gt15 turbo? - Ricky - 19-05-2013 Gt15's do not like high boost though, I think they overspeed very easily and self destruct. I think a K03 would be a better standard choice if you want something smaller as they are a little tougher, but they have all done 100k+ miles so most are getting a little too tired to be pushed. RE: Worth getting a gt15 turbo? - Jimbo - 19-05-2013 No boost leaks still around 18 psi as before the intercooler was fitted. Maybe a bit more fuel low down will get it going better RE: Worth getting a gt15 turbo? - Mattcheese31 - 19-05-2013 (19-05-2013, 06:57 PM)Jimbo Wrote: No boost leaks still around 18 psi as before the intercooler was fitted. You'd have to find a way to fit it to an XUD exhaust manifold anyway as the GT15's came on HDi's... Unless you can swap the exhaust housings on the turbo's RE: Worth getting a gt15 turbo? - Tom - 20-05-2013 Gt15s came on xuds aswell. RE: Worth getting a gt15 turbo? - declantg - 20-05-2013 I had a gt15 on my xud RE: Worth getting a gt15 turbo? - ADV_93 - 21-05-2013 (20-05-2013, 04:26 PM)declantg Wrote: I had a gt15 on my xud My bad! GT15's were on XUD! RE: Worth getting a gt15 turbo? - darrenjlobb - 21-05-2013 Id run a GT15 over a T2. Airflow isnt much odds up high acually, and you get a much cleaner / crisp drive. But if your gunna change it, then put something better on ![]() |
