What lowering springs - Aaron _d95 - 10-05-2013 Are all the springs the same just different load ratings i.e, from 1.4petrol being low rating and 1.9-2L diesel high load rating. I have a 1.9 dturbo and been offered some 40mm lowering springs but not sure if there off a petrol if they are would they fit but sit lower about 50mm-60mm instead of 40 RE: What lowering springs - Tom - 10-05-2013 The gti6 lump is heavier than the 1.9xud lump thats all i really know. Not sure on the hdi and the xsi engines :/ What lowering springs - vlj - 10-05-2013 Gti and xsi are fairly similar weights iirc, as are hdi and xud, 1.4 and 1.6 What lowering springs - Aaron _d95 - 10-05-2013 (10-05-2013, 09:12 PM)vlj Wrote: Gti and xsi are fairly similar weights iirc, as are hdi and xud, 1.4 and 1.6 Are all the springs interchangeable not just HDi-xud and 1.4-1.6. Something like 1.4-xsi and gti-xud stuff like that. I'm thinking of getting some 40mm's tempereraly until I get coil overs. But if there off a smaller petrol would they still fit a xud just be softer and a bit lower than 40mm RE: What lowering springs - lolsteve - 11-05-2013 If you got like 40mm 1.4 springs and put them on a gti you'd be more on 60mm drop? with bad handling due to the spring rates or something What lowering springs - Aaron _d95 - 11-05-2013 (11-05-2013, 12:02 AM)lolsteve Wrote: If you got like 40mm 1.4 springs and put them on a gti you'd be more on 60mm drop? with bad handling due to the spring rates or something A right I get you. What about 1.8/2L petrol springs on a dturbo. Re: What lowering springs - rocker8742 - 11-05-2013 They'd probably raise it RE: What lowering springs - Toms306 - 12-05-2013 1.8s are pretty light, XUD is heavier, GTi is heavier still lol. If they're only temp, does it really matter? But if you're keeping them, just get the right ones for your engine lol. RE: What lowering springs - aaronshort - 20-05-2013 right there is some gti 6 60mm lowering springs near me for sale, will they fit my 1.4? Re: What lowering springs - rocker8742 - 22-05-2013 Rofl gti springs on a 1.4 would make it about 10x higher RE: What lowering springs - puglove - 22-05-2013 Yeah like tom says dont put gti6 springs on a 1.4 i doubt youd get hardly any.drop due to weight. As for the OP trust my dont put TU springs under an XU scary shit!! Fucks the handling lol |
