f*ck my life. - Ruan - 27-04-2013 So basically, as some of you may have heard... Some wanky f*cking bus driver decided that two lanes aren't applicable to him and essentially forced me off the side of the road into a kerb... ![]() ![]() ![]() Annoyingly the impact managed to cause the passenger side side airbag to go off, bent the shock, spread the hub around the strut, seemingly budged the steering rack on it's mounts (it now rubs inside the car)... Basically, f*cking ballache. Probably going to need a new strut, steering rack, hub, possibly steering column, 2 new tyres... Oh well, nothing I can do about it, I'm OK, my back hurts from where I braced and I think the shock of the steering wheel moving slightly has done my forearms in a bit also, Stu who was with me in the car got burnt by the airbag... Just one of them days eh! RE: f*ck my life. - spike2002 - 27-04-2013 Shit news mate I know you're pain ![]() ![]() RE: f*ck my life. - Slam Wagon - 27-04-2013 Hate shit like this, would of been better off letting him crash into you. RE: f*ck my life. - lolsteve - 27-04-2013 Have you gotten the drivers details etc? Shame its done so much damage , guessing steering rack is a nasty job? RE: f*ck my life. - darrenjlobb - 27-04-2013 PITA RE: f*ck my life. - kernow_joe - 27-04-2013 that sucks dude, did the bus even stop/notice? RE: f*ck my life. - Puggie - 27-04-2013 Please tell me you are not letting him get away with it buses have cctv installed now don't they front side and back? they will have to pay for them damage if you can prove he forced you off the road. been down this route myself. And they payed for my fiesta to be repaired f*ck my life. - THE_Liam - 27-04-2013 Bus drivers are a f*cking liability. Put a complaint in to the bus firm, he might at least get a bollocking... RE: f*ck my life. - Ruan - 27-04-2013 CBA with even beginning with the effort of doing it, I don't know the bus, don't know the route... Quit whilst I'm ahead, I've got to sort out my car etc and the little time I've got is better spent fixing the car than complaining to a bus company who don't care. RE: f*ck my life. - Poodle - 27-04-2013 Bad luck dude, hope you get it sorted out alright. Tbh i'd probably go your route too, get on and fix it - cba with the ball ache of chasing for compensation. RE: f*ck my life. - Dum-Dum - 27-04-2013 Did you report the accident at the time? All accidents where there is an injury are supposed to be reported to the police. Even if you don't report it id call the bus company as they will look into it and give the driver a bollocking. Dont know if the busses have "drive green" by you but its made the drivers even bigger lady gardens round here. Its basically a sensor that monitors harsh braking acceleration and cornering on the bus and has a readout in leds (2 green, 2 amber and 2 red iirc) and if it stays in the green they get a bonus in their pay. It means they are reluctant to brake and expect other people to move for them and they take the "racing line" through corners no matter how many lanes they cross. RE: f*ck my life. - devils_fuel - 27-04-2013 That's a shitter fella, glad you're all ok but contact the bus company ! Should be fairly easy to fix though. Just lucky theres no bodywork damage by the looks of things. I would still make a complaint to the bus company though. Bus drivers think they own the road and yeah i know we are supposed to give way to them but they really do take the piss a lot of the time! f*ck my life. - THE_Liam - 27-04-2013 I live just off a main bus route, and on the main road there are always loads of cars parked each side. At least 4 or 5 times a week I'm driving down as a bus comes towards me with cars parked on their side and they just swing out in front of me and I have to slam on the anchors. I lost it a few months ago, spun round and followed the bus to its next stop, got on and asked him what the f*ck he was playing at, and why he mouthed abuse at me when I sounded the horn. He actually thought buses had automatic right of way! RE: f*ck my life. - Oil-burner - 27-04-2013 Thats pretty rough mate, id be after the dickheads job! I do have a steering rack sat in the shed tho if you need it? RE: f*ck my life. - Dum-Dum - 27-04-2013 Excuse for a VTS quick rack IMO RE: f*ck my life. - Ruan - 27-04-2013 ^^ That is exactly what I was thinking... I'm just praying it's not REALLY f*cked the column from the joint in the floor upwards. RE: f*ck my life. - Eeyore - 27-04-2013 should report it bro. RE: f*ck my life. - Toms306 - 27-04-2013 Saw this pop up and FB earlier and wondered how it happened....thought it'd have to be a massive pothole to do damage like that! But I guess a kerb worse then. Bad luck. ![]() RE: f*ck my life. - bigcheez2k3 - 27-04-2013 I have a steering column, I guess it could go with that clutch cable I owe you ;-) RE: f*ck my life. - 306Dan - 27-04-2013 ouch! shame you didnt get his details, im guessing he just carried on and didn't give a damn? RE: f*ck my life. - zx_volcane - 27-04-2013 really shit luck ![]() but yeah I'd prob also go for the mtfu and sort it out rather than get bogged down with all the hassle of trying to chase it up, prob be a lot quicker anyway. RE: f*ck my life. - C.A.R. - 27-04-2013 I curb rashed my beautiful OZ alloys when a coach driver decided he could just pull out around a bus in a f*cking bus stop forcing me into the curb! Having been in an 18 ton truck I can appreciate how a bigger vehicle can be a bitch to drive around town; slow acceleration, takes a longer distance to slow down to a stop, has a big ass turning circle etc, but there's no excuse for purely driving like a c*nt! The Highway Code applies to everyone... RE: f*ck my life. - NP306 - 28-04-2013 If you have any cctv proof or anything would the bus company not cover any costs for your damage? RE: f*ck my life. - Arron - 28-04-2013 If you could of just took a photo of the reg on your phone, then write a snotty e-mail stating time, place, pic of damage to car and pic of the buses reg and what you think of the driver ![]() I did that to sainsburys, one of their delivery vans was in front of me in traffic, he suddenly starts to reverse!!! He was trying to maneouvre into the next lane but was too close to the car infront but couldnt see me, so i held my horn in and reversed otherwise he would of hit me, so i followed him, took a photo, he wouldn't pull over, Im usually such a calm driver but the way he tried to speed away without acknowledging me pissed me off, especially as my id was in the car RE: f*ck my life. - Rich306 - 28-04-2013 Holy crap mate, you were lucky!! RE: f*ck my life. - n0v0s - 28-04-2013 Farrrk, unlucky man. RE: f*ck my life. - Ruan - 29-04-2013 ![]() And just to top it all off. Great. Oh and went down to the doctors after being sent home from work as I could barely move about due to my back, I've torn a load of muscle across my shoulders from the impact - apparently it'll be agony for about 10 days.
