procedure to adjust pump to suit engine - pjb123 - 25-04-2013

2.1 unit
i got this pump from a 1.9 xud
so what is the best procedure
ie max fuekl screw
lda spring
ramp
smoke screw on top

am thinking of fitting a pipe that shoots up gasses so i can see them in rear view mirror ...

the pump on my 2.1 has max fuel to the point where the revs are just starting to hang, throttle arm bent for more travel, gov mod, heavy lda grind, lda screw wound all the way out and the plastic bushes removed + inside of cap ground flat for more lda travel to aid off boost smoke. 9mm pump and a 2.1 engine is running approximately 150-160bhp with a little bit of clutch slip

thanks for that

but what to do first how to recognise from smoke what to adjust
its easy to turn it all up and get loads of black smoke

I would recommend doing your basic fuel and turbo tune first. after that a gov mod would be next on the cards and then grind the lda pin to fine tune the setup

You need to adjust your blower too surely? About 20psi i'd aim for on a T2, but 18 to be safe.

ok well trying to set this up now
disconnecting lda engine stationary
opening throttle slowly no smoke at any rpm
however when blipping throttle lots of black smoke ont he way up to rpm and down from rpm

lda is disconnected so what do i adjust

i was gping to connect a pipe on exhaust so that i can see more clearly when she was puffing out smoke etc loooks comical but works
