making custom exhaust - rd070707 - 20-04-2013 Right I've had enough of my cat sitting to low and catching on speedbumps etc so I want to make a 2.5 inch system from the turbo back with a dummy back box . few questions: - what diameter is the downpipe currently? Should I weld the 2.5 inch pipe from the very top of the downpipe where it meets turbo or can I just do it after the bend? - for the bend in the mid section would it work to just buy two 45 degree bends and weld them in? Or would the likes of a 307 have a 2.5 inch exhaust with suitable mid section bends? cheers RE: making custom exhaust - Just Sean - 20-04-2013 2.25standard. Mayaswell weld it up to the standard flange mate! i amgoing to use 3xmeter bits and 3x45 bends RE: making custom exhaust - rd070707 - 20-04-2013 So one 45 for the bend off the turbo and two for the mid section? RE: making custom exhaust - rd070707 - 20-04-2013 Silly question maybe but how would I weld it to the flange? Just cut the old pipe off real close to it or what? RE: making custom exhaust - Just Sean - 21-04-2013 Yeah, thats what i'd do mate! RE: making custom exhaust - Poodle - 22-04-2013 While you're welding it, bolt the flange down to something so it doesn't distort - otherwise you'll never get it to seal again. |
