Heater blower resistor - lazareth1 - 17-04-2013

Hi Guys,

Heater blower has just stopped working one morning. I've been advised to check the heater blower resistor and after taking out the air feed cover over the blower, the hole where you access the resistor is all sealed up on my 306. has anyone come across this before? Need to get to the resistor pack to check it because it's getting rather cold in my car Sad

Before you check that check the relay. Where your fuses are under steering wheel. Its a green fuse on top row. Usually yhat which goes. If its stuck it its blown and melted

What do you mean sealed up? Can you get a picture always helps in these situations.
What phase is your car aswell?

That's one thing I never checked. I'll take a look at them soon.

Cheers bud

It was the relay! Replaced with another one not in use and the blowers are back on. Thanks Tom.

I'm having the same issue: heater blower works only on low speed regardless of the position of fan speed controller. I have checked the fuses and they are all good. Have taken out the fan controller box and could not find anything wrong in there (no burnt marks or black resistors on the pcb board, etc).

Where exactly is that relay that you have changed and fixed your heater blower speed problem? Cheers!

I have a 306 cabriolet 1994 1.7l manual. Thanks again.

Under the scuttle panel, passenger side, under the plastic grill.
