Urgent, New HU won't work and C/L not working - HDIkyle - 03-02-2012
Just installing my new Kenwood HU, Tested it out of the dash and it works fine, Slotted it into the dash and now it won't work, Its getting power because it ejects CD and red light flashed but won't operate with the Faceplate on. I have try'd the reset button also.
Also the Central locking has stopped working aswell.

Didnt touch any wires together or anything did you?

Erm maybe There was a Yellow and Red that might have touched that can be changed for battery live and ignition live.

Is there a change the faceplate could break but the Unit still operate?

I reckon you have got bare wires or something shorting out on the cage, I had this a while back in another car.

I'll go have a look now. Take it out and again, One issue i have is i left the RCA too short so they don't even reach the bloody hole Lol

Yeah the front could be faulty, my last HU the LCD screen didnt work and none of it light up, but it still worked perfectly

Sorted, It was a 20amp fuse along the bottom, Quite why the Cd player is fused to the Central locking also tho i can't understand Lol, Just my amps to get going now. Think the Remote wire is not connected right

With that HU, you can always eject a cd but you need your switched live to work the HU.
As you said, why it's on the same fuse as the locking I don't know!
The switched live for the amps can be turned off in the settings. This could be your problem.
