tuning box - tysonbully2k12 - 11-04-2013 anybody seen these? are they any good? http://www.ebay.ie/itm/TUNING-CHIP-Peugeot-Boxer-Bipper-Partner-305-306-205-/250993524248?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3a70613e18#ht_3094wt_1037 RE: tuning box - declantg - 11-04-2013 Don't do it, get a proper remap mate RE: tuning box - cwspellowe - 11-04-2013 Get a proper engine before you worry about maps. Dont even attempt to make the 1.4 any faster.. RE: tuning box - Poodle - 11-04-2013 Haha good point Pellowe, hadnt noticed that! RE: tuning box - declantg - 11-04-2013 One of my best mates remaps cars for a living, he is constantly seeing the damage done by these. All they do is inject more fuel, not worth it in the long run. RE: tuning box - tysonbully2k12 - 11-04-2013 thanks lads, just seen it on ebay, and im not doing anything to the 1.4 shes getting sold, and im getting a d turbo, was just wondering would it be worth buying, but i see its not ![]() RE: tuning box - cwspellowe - 11-04-2013 (11-04-2013, 10:45 AM)declantg Wrote: One of my best mates remaps cars for a living, he is constantly seeing the damage done by these. I like how the advert says its not just a resistor and shows a picture of a really crappy looking chip on a pcb ![]() Fundamentally they work by telling the ecu that air is colder and denser than it actually is, so the ecu injects more fuel. Trouble is, the air ISNT colder and denser, so the fuel mixture just runs really rich. Might see a slight change in midrange punch but top end will definitely suffer and mpg will plummet. Same effect as just unplugging the lambda. Just do that actually. Then when your engine dies from bore wash and fuel in the oil, at least you saved yourself £15 RE: tuning box - declantg - 11-04-2013 No problem man, dturbos have no ecu as such, Have you found a DT? It was at a racetrack though so must be true. RE: tuning box - declantg - 11-04-2013 If it was gained on the track, how the f*ck did they test it? Haha RE: tuning box - tysonbully2k12 - 11-04-2013 found a lovely one http://cars.donedeal.ie/for-sale/cars/4827002 bit too expensive for me,, shes lovely though, with a set of cyclones and hdi bumpers ![]() |
