cheers guys

Yeah that looks like about 1cm more thread than usual. The thread usually only come out like 1mm above the nut. Aslong as it runs fine though then I wouldnt worry about it.

ye it runs fine just wasnt sure if its got different internals

Re: bosh pump question - darrenjlobb - 02-02-2012

Looks like an ex xantia / 406 pump or something, the longer shaft is because it used to have a throttle potentiomter on top if it, which goes over the extra long shaft with a second nut Smile

As said, no problem at all / wont effect anything Smile

Re: bosh pump question - karl1989 - 02-02-2012

lso forgot to mension how hard is it to change the seals in the pump. i removed the lid of the top and the black circle rubber and there was oil underneath it

Re: bosh pump question - Ruan - 02-02-2012

Can I just say, cover up the bare solder joint... At least just wrap some lx tape round it!

That connection isn't fused, if you short it, the ENTIRE engine loom WILL melt... I'm sure there's someone on this forum who can agree with me on that one, I've seen it a few times.

Re: bosh pump question - karl1989 - 02-02-2012

i have put some conectors on it and tape mate this is a pic from when i got it fitted but cheers anyways Smile

Thats the boosted air side of the LDA so its coming from the turbo most likely and its pretty normal for their to be a bit of oil in there mate, don't worry Smile

Re: bosh pump question - karl1989 - 02-02-2012

ok thats something less to worry about cheers matey Smile

It is unless there is a lot of oil in there in which case your turbo is buggered and leaking like hell Tongue

Chances are though that is just a build up of oil from over a period of time Smile

Re: bosh pump question - karl1989 - 02-02-2012

well a forum member spun my lda and noticed it but since then i have changed the turbo Smile. the turbine on the old turbo was chewed up
