New tyres - Niall - 29-03-2013

Been looking at new tyres and dont actually know what size tyres are supposed to go on the Turini's!

At the moment they have 195/45/16s on but they actually have a bit of stretch on. Only a tiny bit mind but id rather have the correct tyres on there. Looking on the internet, the wheels are 7" wide. Would i need 195s or 205s on these for the correct size?
Im bloody useless when it comes to wheels!

getting on for 205s yeah

would they fit though??...would it have to be '40s?!

RE: New tyres - Niall - 29-03-2013

well ive just worked it out and the total diameter of the 45/16s come in at 10mm smaller diameter than the standard 55/15s. 45/205s come in at 0mm difference so it should be perfect!

I ran 195/45/16 on my sp's the 205's seemed to rub when cornering hard lol

If your going 205 I'd go 40's what's the et of the wheels

RE: New tyres - Niall - 29-03-2013

ET15. Yeah i was just thinking about a rubbing issue :S
Dont want to go any smaller than 45. They already look small enough!! lol

195/45/16 is what I run on my borbets.

Well thats helpful!

Think i will stick with 195s. Further away from the standard rolling radius but the tyres i want are 20 quid a corner cheaper in 195!

Sidewall would be around the same as a 45 with 205/40

And you won't get no stretch

RE: New tyres - Niall - 29-03-2013

gay. Just looked and they dont do the pilot sport 3 in 205/40/16 Sad

New tyres - Jonny b - 29-03-2013

Gutted I think 205/45 is just that little too big, fecking pissed me off on mine! rubbing all the time down my favorite road lol

RE: New tyres - Niall - 29-03-2013

Yours is probably lower than mine though. In fact, i think a Unimog is lower than my car Tongue

Doubt it mines only 40mm on back and it was lowered when it had stuff in it lol

RE: New tyres - Niall - 29-03-2013

RE: New tyres - sam - 29-03-2013

I tried a set of 205/46r16 on mine at work to see what the clearemce was and got to be honest looking loads better Smile and loads of clearence!

RE: New tyres - Kezzieboy - 01-04-2013

my wheels are 7" wide, and I'm on 195s, doesn't look like any stretch on them!

Ill try and get a pic tomorrow. Its only very minimal but still a bit there. Also if i fit 205s, it will bring the profile up so that the overall diameter is only about 2mm off the standard 195/55/15s

RE: New tyres - C.A.R. - 02-04-2013

195/45/16 is what I ran on the Superleggera's and they rubbed ocasionally. There is minimal stretch, but get a tyre with rim protector and there won't be an issue running a 195.

205 is closer to OEM overall diameter but I would be concerned enough to get the arches rolled.
