My bosch pump has not got this bit - mikey b - 27-03-2013

As in the title I swapped my pump from a Lucas to a bosch from a 405
And my pump has not got this bit it's just blanked of just wondering what this bit is this is the pump in jimbobs dturbo

it's the static advance mechanism i believe it's called . .Smile

that pictured one appears to be ecu controlled at a guess . .or maybe not lol

Cold start advance solenoid - seems to be on older bosch pumps, I'm surprised the 405 one doesn't have it tbh. All it does it advance the timing a little to make cold starts a bit easier

Its for the load dependant timing. Makes no odds tbh, the are both exactly the same performance, but one with the blank off causes slightly noisier cruising speeds because it maintains rpm/advance curve where as the one with the pipe backs off the advance depending on how far your foot is mashed.

Ah that's cool was just wondering we just had both bonnets open and thort what the hell is that bit lol
