windscreen scratches - DeeTurbo - 15-03-2013 Does anyone know how to get rid of scratches on the windscreen? My girlfriends car is really bad and it's not good to drive it when it's dark as the light from on coming cars catches the scratches. I've tried using a t-cut glass scratch remover to no avail. RE: windscreen scratches - Piggy - 15-03-2013 get a new one! RE: windscreen scratches - ozonehostile - 15-03-2013 just get a new screen, no way of getting scratches out of glass unfortunately. screen replacement isnt too expensive actually, £68 for a new one on the 306 from national windscreens. new glass is amazing too, so clear! RE: windscreen scratches - Piggy - 15-03-2013 good price that...thinking of getting one...do they come to you to fit? RE: windscreen scratches - DeeTurbo - 15-03-2013 Yeah, I think that might be my only option, but I thought there might of been some way of polishing the scratches out. We use micromesh at work... might be worth a go, but dunno how expensive micromesh is.. RE: windscreen scratches - ConorTRG - 15-03-2013 This stuff is suppose to be good for scrathes that arent to bad. http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/engine-and-exterior/glass-cleaners-sealants/carpro-ceri-glass-kit/prod_988.html RE: windscreen scratches - DeeTurbo - 19-03-2013 (15-03-2013, 11:28 PM)ConorTRG Wrote: This stuff is suppose to be good for scrathes that arent to bad. Thanks, that looks like the stuff I need. RE: windscreen scratches - pugolliek - 22-03-2013 did you use this stuff yet Dee? RE: windscreen scratches - DeeTurbo - 22-03-2013 No, not had chance to order it yet. RE: windscreen scratches - Oil-burner - 22-03-2013 National windscreens quoted me £77 for a replacement screen a couple of years ago but that was taking the old screen out too. Autowindscreens wanted £75 for a chip repair and double for a screen RE: windscreen scratches - Daniel306 - 22-03-2013 Iv done side windows with an electric paint pollisher RE: windscreen scratches - Kezzieboy - 26-03-2013 Are those windscreen prices for the tinted, rain sensor windscreens? Mine's a bit beat up these days, are rear screens a similar price? |
