I'm sure this has been answered before, is the 90bhp 406 hdi gearbox the same as the 306? Been offered 1 for cheap and wondered if it'd work for an upgrade? What amount of work would be involved if it is a straight swap, clutch and swap the forks over from the dt gearbox?

Depends if it has a cable clutch selector as oppose to a hydro selector. I think.

I cant remember exactly what it was and I'm sure theres a thread about it but i think the splines don't line up or something similar

Typical Peugeot... I thought the 306 and 406 90bhp HDi were the same engine/box. Oh well, thanks guys.
