Billet Aluminium lower engine mount - Rippthrough - 02-03-2013

Got a billet ally lower mount up for grabs, brand new, for those of you with engines that keep murdering rubber mounts or track/race cars, same as Jenks has fitted to his Dtub.

Will stick a picture up later on.

£20 ono, if you're local fetch me your casing and I'll fit it for you.

At least it stops you hearing the driver moaning about the price of chip oil and what mpg he got for the past 46.77 miles.

RE: Billet Aluminium lower engine mount - Rippthrough - 03-03-2013

I'll probably be having a few more of these done next week, I might offer a version with a polybushed centre to take the worse of the vibrations out if anyone's interested in a stiffer lower mount but not at the "Oh my god I'll never get my missus out of the car" level.

RE: Billet Aluminium lower engine mount - samass - 03-03-2013

Would you be able to make a 106 one? Just curious for pricing and feesability really

RE: Billet Aluminium lower engine mount - darrenjlobb - 03-03-2013

DO NOT fit one of these to a stock diesel motor!!!

RE: Billet Aluminium lower engine mount - Rippthrough - 03-03-2013

You shouldn't be fitting a completely solid one to anything stock, diesel or petrol, unless you have the other two mounts either uprated or you know they're in perfect condition and preferably chocked, otherwise the smaller bush on the lower link will get a lot more stress than it was designed for.

RE: Billet Aluminium lower engine mount - samass - 03-03-2013

Yeah I know that, I'm also looking into the options for uprated top and gearbox ones too

RE: Billet Aluminium lower engine mount - Jenkosowls - 04-03-2013

Really don't know how people can say there that bad set the idle to about 1k on a derv and its fine. Iv had a few people in the car expecting it to be terrible and thought it wasn't bad! You need to mtfu you pansies I use my car daily on harsh suspension put some 3k miles on it and I'm not deaf dead or suffering from vibrating white finger

The only time it does get terrible is when it's under serious load by which in a derv your just coaling like mad so any decent dtub owners co trols it via throttle
