"Steering rack inner joint"
That's one of the advisories I've got....I've noticed quite alot when moving away when cold, and turning out the dr, the s/wheel's a bit snatchy, is this these inner joints causing it or the rack.....if it's the rack it might get scrapped

inner rack joint can be replaced without too much difficulty...
sometimes easier to do whole rack. wouldnt scrap the car for it
also...they cant fail it for inner joint...only ever advise

Tie rod, jack it and you should be able to find the play in it.
