Yes, there is a lot of power loss through the transmission, but drive a quattro hard on a soaking wet road and you can't help but be impressed

the S4 I have driven and the rs4 with the v6 twin turbo...both much quicker than 230 at the wheels...

Agreed piggy! The way my mates 4 pulls into triple figures is unreal, even my cousins old m5 v10 struggled if he got the jump on him
