best budget headunit - aaron_one - 20-02-2013

Looking to change my head unit, any suggestions on a decent budget headunit with no cd player? Only use usb, aux and SD card. Thanks Smile

Mine was from Halfords £80. Radio, cd, aux, sd card, USB, Bluetooth and hands free with mic and there was also a little remote with it. Sendai something.

Theres some decent stereos in halfrauds atm, think I fancy a dab job

RE: best budget headunit - Piggy - 20-02-2013

something second hand? budget price and premium quality

RE: best budget headunit - Matt - 20-02-2013

Go for what you would use,

I have from and rear USB and aux, only use the rear USB so the other 3 are useless but i paid extra for it. Tbh it was a steal though Smile

RE: best budget headunit - Willo - 20-02-2013

How much do you want to spend and don't buy Sony head units there terrible in my opinion

RE: best budget headunit - aaron_one - 20-02-2013

I used to have an Inphase 100-ssd in only old 106, I thought it was awesome but im just gutted it hasn't got a rear aux. I've currently got a jvc but it feels flimsy and cheap even thought it was 90 quid new

RE: best budget headunit - Willo - 20-02-2013

whats ya budget and are you wanting pre outs aux inputs usb input etc

RE: best budget headunit - ConorTRG - 20-02-2013

Depends on your budget and what you want it to do, I usually go for alpine.

RE: best budget headunit - Niall - 20-02-2013

Stay away from sony! Get kenwood, alpine or pioneer. If your budget is slightly tighter, JVC arnt too bad.
Really, we need to know what your budget is so we can recommend something.

RE: best budget headunit - lolsteve - 20-02-2013

Halfrauds £56 deal for a pioneer thing, glows red, plays music, good enough

RE: best budget headunit - 1616six - 20-02-2013

Love my Alpine CDE-133BT, £139.99 & does everything

RE: best budget headunit - aaron_one - 20-02-2013

anything up to 80 quid really! Can be a mechless one because i don't need a cd player etc, i just need aux, sd and maybe usb

RE: best budget headunit - Eeyore - 20-02-2013

Kenwood stuff has always been my choice! Big Grin

RE: best budget headunit - Ricky - 20-02-2013

Look for a second hand Alpine. I bought mine used and it's been fine for over two years.

over your budget slightly but i know a few on here have this, my self included and for the money, it is a very very good head unit!

RE: best budget headunit - Oil-burner - 20-02-2013

Ive got an LG job, my mum bought it from halfords when i passed my test so you can imagine how old it is.
Had others but always end up putting it back in because its bang on

RE: best budget headunit - Curt - 21-02-2013

I've got 2 Alpine IDA X001's for both mine now, I love them. I'd recommend having a hunt around, but I can't really see anything better for under £80. The one Niall linked is also highly rated... I was looking for one but new was out of budget. I'm an Alpine man myself

RE: best budget headunit - Willo - 21-02-2013

I like my pioneers personally

RE: best budget headunit - Birk - 21-02-2013

I've had an old school alpine head unit for nearly 5years and it sounds amazing.

I'd Deff recommend any top end alpine.

+1 i've an IDA X100 but might be selling it soon as I no longer have an iPhone

RE: best budget headunit - Just Sean - 21-02-2013

I've always had Sony's! Feel like I've had a sheltered life now!!

I love and hate my sony, i love the tune tray thing, but i hate the sound quality, its wank!

RE: best budget headunit - Kwik - 24-02-2013

Alpine IMHO but i'm severely bias as i think they the best but you do pay a pretty penny for them. Second would be Pioneer as their budget range is quite frankly awesome for the price. Third Kenwood and never sony or any others lol. this is all my opinion btw don't take it as gospel lol

Preowned is a good way to go check ebay you can get a high end older unit for peanuts and high end is always better then budget
