Gov mod help! - 5t3v3n - 19-02-2013 Ok so done a few gov mods now and starting to wander if thers more can be done here? I cant seem to find info on this but the middle spring on the governor can it be modified in anyway? Or what else can i change RE: Gov mod help! - Dave - 19-02-2013 You need to read this forum there's stickied guides Gov mod help! - rickye - 20-02-2013 Its for mid throttle, and the wee tiny spring at the end is for none/idle, looking through vw sites it the spring people first started to shim, but it doesn't really do anything useful being shimmed The main spring we mod for more revs n to stop the fuel cutting is really all that's needed RE: Gov mod help! - Ruan - 20-02-2013 If you shim it, the car will seem to have a mind of it's own... It stops any of the load compensating functions of the throttle, so ends up with the car producing adequate power at a given throttle position, then seemingly produces less when you reach a hill and then seemingly produce more when you start going downhill... RE: Gov mod help! - 5t3v3n - 20-02-2013 Ok so best left alone then? Or is ther anyway to sort this RE: Gov mod help! - Ruan - 20-02-2013 Just leave the intermediate spring alone! No need to touch it. |
