And mate, theres some pretty awesome racing/tuning companies round hereford, with rolling roads, get it booked in and get some accurate figures to stop us all arguing

I'm going to sort a proper exhaust and lows out first then chuck it back on the dyno. Maybe organise a shootout day for my 3 cars haha

RE: The 2.1 Sedanimal - Dum-Dum - 31-07-2013

You know its bad when you need a dyno day just for you own cars lol

Daves T04e 306 is a completely different kettle of fish here...

Edited :p

find a decent rollers and Im sure we'll all come

RE: The 2.1 Sedanimal - ozonehostile - 02-08-2013

Well it's not good news :-( the sedan has developed an alarming oil burning habit, going to investigate later but I'm thinking possible turbo failure, overflowing catch tank or worse case scenario, piston rings or something equally sinister

RE: The 2.1 Sedanimal - Piggy - 02-08-2013

my dibs is that all that coaling had filled the catch tank!

RE: The 2.1 Sedanimal - Ed Doe - 02-08-2013

Blocked breather?

RE: The 2.1 Sedanimal - ozonehostile - 02-08-2013

Im hoping it's something to do with the catch tank /breather, nice easy fix

RE: The 2.1 Sedanimal - Dum-Dum - 02-08-2013

Just a thought, new bonnet now with lining squishing the breather that runs over the top of the inlet?

RE: The 2.1 Sedanimal - jammapic - 02-08-2013

^^ This.

It doesn't take much to get it burning oil.

I had a kink in the breather pipe on my XUD and it was alarming how quickly it used oil. Re-routed the pipes and never used a drop after that.

Nah I took the liner off as soon as I got home lol

RE: The 2.1 Sedanimal - Dum-Dum - 02-08-2013

Hmmmm, whats the contents of the breather tank at the moment.

Have you checked the bend off the breather at the start as its really tight.
Also have you tried running with the breather open just to test.

RE: The 2.1 Sedanimal - ozonehostile - 02-08-2013

I think I've solved it :-)

Where I've had the boost hose off to access the fuel pump for mot yesterday I've put the breather pipe on the wrong side causing it to double back on itself. Gave it a few revs and it seems to be burning without oil :-)

RE: The 2.1 Sedanimal - Piggy - 02-08-2013

well done, good lad.

Haha fu :-P

RE: The 2.1 Sedanimal - Dum-Dum - 02-08-2013

TBF that breather is a PITA, just nowhere sensible to route it.

Yes very true. Thinking of getting a hard 90 degree elbow off the filler neck and some longer hose to route it around the front of the bay instead of over the top

RE: The 2.1 Sedanimal - ozonehostile - 04-08-2013

So the exhaust finally got sorted, the "proper" way ;-)

RE: The 2.1 Sedanimal - Piggy - 04-08-2013

cool...I still have my side exit somewhere...had to 'adjust' brake pipes to make it fit tho

RE: The 2.1 Sedanimal - ozonehostile - 04-08-2013

This is just a temporary solution until I find someone to tig weld my stainless. It's good fun though haha. 2.1 sounds great with a straight pipe btw, really growly

RE: The 2.1 Sedanimal - Piggy - 04-08-2013

bloody loud init.
I had to remove mine when I moved as it wasnt very social...or posh!
growled like a angry lion with a sore throat stung on the nose by a wasp!

haha, thats one way of putting it lmao

RE: The 2.1 Sedanimal - Chris_90 - 04-08-2013

Has it made a difference in power now its a straight pipe?? hows the clutch holding up?

RE: The 2.1 Sedanimal - ozonehostile - 04-08-2013

The turbo spools almost instantly and midrange power feels a lot more. But yeah, this has resulted in a bit more 4th gear clutch slip

Needs a bigger turbo then Tongue. Like a truck turbo Wink

RE: The 2.1 Sedanimal - ozonehostile - 04-08-2013

I'm trying to keep this sensible enough to use daily. Although once it's slammed and looking nice I guess I won't be able to resist the traditional 11mm pump and big turbo
