a few factors have led me to get a new car for daily use, firstly my 405 is in dire need of pretty much everything, clutch, bushes, welding, servicing, bearings etc etc etc not too much of a problem really as its a couple of days work for me but i just don't have the time or enthusiasm for it anymore.

next reason is that im moving up at work and tbh the 405 just lets me down, turning upto work and visiting customers in a filthy rusty smokey old estate that leaves oil drips everywhere just isnt helping so ive decided to take the old girl off the road for now until i can find the motivation to fix everything then decide what to do from there.

so when the opportunity came up to get this i couldnt really say no

renault laguna estate 1.9 dci 120bhp, 6 speed gearbox and all the toys, new clutch, new wheel bearings all round and new bushes. high mileage and headgasket gone.

the garage quoted £740 to do the headgasket so stuffed that idea and bought another laguna that had been rear ended with nice low mileage engine to use as a donor.

52 plate high spec laguna and all its cost me so far is £250 including a complete donor car. undoubtedly its gonna end up with a cheeky remap and slammed on some nice rims, be rude not to Smile

just a bonus that its going to match my 306 color scheme

Looks alright mate. Prefer the 'states over the hatches, good colour too.
Just watch out with the key cards, they are a pita!
Theres a fix mod for them knocking about for them if you're handy with a soldering iron.

yeah its a gonna be hard for me having a key card, i lose my keys at least 3 times a day haha

quite pleased with my new french luxury barge, cupholders everywhere, comfy as and that lovely 6th gear Smile

Be carefull, I hear the key card can cause the car too run away. Oh wait..... That's only when put in a 306

cant wait for the breakers to drop the engine donor off so i can get it in and start driving. my 405 really is on its last legs now after a trip over to watch the wyedean rally. big hill resulted in clutch smoke pouring out of the front and chronic overheating Sad

ahwell, at least ive got the 306 to use if the 405 dies before i get the new engine in the laguna Smile
