I think you could be a little more specific with your questions.

6bt is a cummins 6 cylinder diesel engine that is usually fuelled by a bosch pump
4by is usually a yanmar marine diesel engine, its a 4cylinder high pressure direct injection engine.
Both are turbocharged.

Faster - Strip it out, loose seats, door cards etc
Sound - Universal backbox, cone filter
Comfort - Sound deadening, meridan seats
Looks - Splitter, spoiler (oem please) , stickers if you're into that, lows, ph3 it
All standard stuff really and depends on your budget and what you want it for, low budget but comfort you want stuff like oem wheels with sound deadening - high budget no comfort is strip out interior and lows with banded steels

In all seriousness, if you're young then there isn't much you can do without incurring a wrath of expense, possible unwanted plod attention and silly insurance.
I'd probably strip as much weight as humanly possible whilst keeping it looking and sounding oem.
Then fit a decent head unit and set of components, not bothering with a sub.
Then start saving for a faster 306!

Spray/ wrap various interior parts
Turbo?
Remap?
Stick with standard air intake, it was designed like that for a reason.
Full service
Engine swap? - dturbo?
Straight through exhaust
Back box
Uprated suspension?
