[SOLVED] Swapped tailgate - wiring problems - Bengley - 31-01-2013 Hi there, I swapped my tailgate over for another today, the new one is in better condition. All was fine until I got to the wiring. All of the wires are colour coded which helps, but no matter what combination of wires I tried, I can't get the brake lights to work (which is a bit dangerous). The third brake light has been removed, as well as the wiring so I can't see that being the issue, but read on... The battery light on the dash is constantly lit since doing this. When I put my foot on the brake, I can hear a relay clicking, the battery light gets brighter, then I release the brake pedal and the relay clicks off and the battery light returns to dim. Also, the clock on the centre console has gone dim. I must have connected a wire wrong somewhere, but I can't work out which! Any advice? Solved - Fuse 28 blown. RE: [SOLVED] Swapped tailgate - wiring problems - C2K - 31-01-2013 A soon as I saw your battery light was on I knew it would be fuse 28. Does this when the rear wiper relay shorts out, that fuse runs lots of stuff too. |
