Possible fueling issue - JoshDturbo - 29-01-2013

So I was driving the 306 1.9td xud and then I started to lose revs with Alot of black smoke coming out the exhaust tried lower gear change to try get the revs back but this didnt work it just then cut out at side of road then when trying to start there just wasn't anything there as if no compression in the engine just didn't want to go so was wondering would this be due to fuel or something worse? If it's worse I'm not starting messing around but if it's just the sake of a pump its easy and cheap enough? Cheers

Bad fuel wouldn't cause no compression. Post a video of you trying to start it so we can get an idea from that. You said it lost power quickly, so this could indicate the cambelt has snapped. This would also cause no compression. If it is the cambelt, be prepared for a fair bit of work...

This was my initial thought but trying easy things if it's Cambelt it's strip an scrap but I'll get a video up when I finish work my grandad said snapped cambelt
