think if you see it in person, from what it was before... keeping an OEM look, it fits nicely.

I wasn't a big fan of an extra pod just screwed onto the dash

Re: B-road basher - Grant - 18-05-2012

I'm getting excited!

Lol im sad

Re: B-road basher - ginge191 - 18-05-2012

no, it's fine Grant, you may get excited! i'll wait til' i head up to yours to do any engine wiring also.

In fact, it may be useful (for educating people) the difference with OUT any additional cabling in the engine bay, and AFTER, WITH cables in the engine bay, whatcha reckon?

Also, have you got spade connectors - i've got LOADS here?

Re: B-road basher - Grant - 18-05-2012

Could do mate. Worth a go if we have time.

And yeah if you have some, that would be ace. Not sure how many i have, as the box exploded and its contents are floating around the bottom of my toolbox...

Re: B-road basher - samass - 18-05-2012

nice! want to see what the matt black on the rub strips looks like in person, im still undecided if i like it/want to do mine...

also, if you need some more connectors i can pick some up

Well the matt on the bumper looks really fresh, i'm impressed with it - i'll pop the bumper on within the next few days (unfortunately, lacquer free for a few days, should be fine)

as for connectors, i got a huge box from halfrauds i only opened yesterday which should be PLENTY. Cheers! Smile

Re: B-road basher - samass - 18-05-2012

nice, i always kinda liked the greyness of the rub strips once they've had bumper care on them, not quite solid bloack, if you get what i mean... ive been thinking of spraying mine some sort of really dark grey...

cool, no worries then!

Re: B-road basher - samass - 18-05-2012

Re: B-road basher - Bananalad - 18-05-2012

Would you consider un-colour coding the bottom half of the bumper? Then you wouldnt have to buy sigma paint when fixing the crack and i dont think it looks right Smile

Re: B-road basher - ginge191 - 18-05-2012

not a bad shout, but still wouldn't cover the height of the crack :|

Re: B-road basher - ginge191 - 22-05-2012

So, i set about getting some matt lacquer on my bumpet, kindly obtained from samass - i tried a small spray first and saw that this stuff was going on THICK...

Carried on across the entirity of the bumper, from a fair distance i got to say, was planning on doing 2/3 layers of this as it was thick, rather than a thick top layer.

After the first layer had been sat in the sun drying, i'd seen a lot of run marks across it - it's impossible to avoid these marks which has upset me greatly...

So, i tried sanding it back, with an even thinner layer over the top, but it continues to run in any direction, rather than taking a nice stick like conventional lacquer.

What i've done now, is gone over the entire bumper with a very fine dusting of the original matt black, so techniclly it has the under layer protected, and a top layer for my ego...

Just drying, i'll see what it comes out like.
