Stupid thread with invisible posts tbh

FUcks sake, i made the thread do the magical disappearing reappearing post trick, and all i got was a crap update.

RE: My stage 2 HDi Estate-GT2052 in the works! - Jonny81191 - 17-01-2013

Yeah guys I'm not too happy either. My brother's gearbox failed, so I spent yesterday evening taking that off in sub zero temperatures.

It is funny though, how it got to this point without him mentioning it. No oil FTMFL lol

But as for mine, the job list stands at:

Oil feed (got one finally, yay!)
Oil return (fits, just needs a slight "tweak")
Intercooler pipes (sorted, just needs clamps fitting)
Put subframe back on
Exhaust (meh)
Air intake pipe (in post, needed for the MAF)
Drain and refill gearbox (lost a load by pulling the driveshaft out. schoolboy error)

*MAY* be in a position to start it tonight, but can't go anywhere due to my brother's car being on axle stands with no gearbox outside the garage.

RE: My stage 2 HDi Estate-GT2052 in the works! - Jonny81191 - 17-01-2013

Right then!

Saturday will see this rolling!

I'm 3 mikalor clamps, an intake pipe, a charged battery and some wheels away from starting up and getting rolling Big Grin

Would start her up now, but there's nothing left in the battery Sad

RE: My stage 2 HDi Estate-GT2052 in the works! - Jonny81191 - 17-01-2013

Could do with grabbing some 'zorst from the scrappers on saturday mate, anything will do for now to get it moving, then I'll make up a full 3" one Big Grin

RE: My stage 2 HDi Estate-GT2052 in the works! - Just Sean - 17-01-2013

where you getting the exhaust things from?

RE: My stage 2 HDi Estate-GT2052 in the works! - Jonny81191 - 17-01-2013

Scrappy's initially, then longer term, imma get a lenght of 3" and weld up a custom straight through to BFO empty backbox with a 4" tip, OR a big midbox/cherrybomb, then split it to two 3" pipes for one either side Big Grin

RE: My stage 2 HDi Estate-GT2052 in the works! - Just Sean - 17-01-2013

oic.

when i do mine im getting 3 straights and 3 45's and am gonna cut it to shape and weld it up, will use the back box and keep my tip, but weld the 3" pipe through it.

simples! Its pretty cheap on ebay too

RE: My stage 2 HDi Estate-GT2052 in the works! - Jonny81191 - 20-01-2013

IT'S BEGUN!!!

Yep. Sounds epic, have to drop the subframe back off though due to a slight clearance issue resulting in no bottom engine mount lol

Video to follow. So awesome!!!

Done well mate! You must be chuffed! ThumbsUp

RE: My GT20s HDi Estate - cwspellowe - 20-01-2013

Hooray!

Today my rev counter started working so I discovered on my 56 i'm hitting 20psi by 2200rpm. AMAZEBALLS!

Enjoy it sir, they're chronically spooly!

RE: My GT20s HDi Estate - c.gerrard - 20-01-2013

Result!

So, is it coming to work tomorrow or not? And how was the clutch?

RE: My GT20s HDi Estate - Jonny81191 - 20-01-2013

Not coming to work until I have an exhaust (asking for it really, there's NOTHING off the back of the turbo lol ) and air intake. Clutch was fine, but bear in mind I had no MAF plugged in.

Yeah, spools very nicely Big Grin And MY GOD does it sound good. I'll go for a straight pipe first methinks, then I'm going twin tailpipes at some point Big Grin

RE: My GT20s HDi Estate - Jonny81191 - 22-01-2013

So this evening I made a downpipe, so I now have an exhaust!

With any luck, my intake piping will arrive tomorrow, so I can get driving (finally, yay!)

Can't wait Big Grin

RE: My GT20s HDi Estate - cwspellowe - 22-01-2013

Pfft, elbow out the turbo > open air ftw.

I should really fix that, all you can hear is turbo whistle even when cruising haha

RE: My GT20s HDi Estate - Jonny81191 - 23-01-2013

Big Grin Big Grin

It LIVES!!!

I'll get some video footage tomorrow or something, all I got this evening was a short clip of me missing 3rd and hitting 5th lol

RE: My GT20s HDi Estate - c.gerrard - 23-01-2013

Still buzzing after that drive Big Grin
