RE: Silverzx's White 205 1.9 DT XUD - GT2052V, 11mm & Much More! - silverzx - 10-01-2014

After driving it again last night I don't think I'll be breaking it.

It's a good car, I just shouldn't make a habit of crashing it.

Please let me know about bumper/headlight when possible.

i would never try and make a 205 look any decent, unless the shell is an absoloute minter!! you'll be chasing problems round in circles!

Stick with it, keep in sleeper spec; it's almost there Tongue get some steelies on i think! Big Grin

Silverzx's White 205 1.9 DT XUD - GT2052V, 11mm & Much More! - td_dan - 10-01-2014

Now have a wing for you aswell mate Smile

RE: Silverzx's White 205 1.9 DT XUD - GT2052V, 11mm & Much More! - welshpug - 10-01-2014

have you fixed the fuel leak it had? I'm sure it had one when one of the dans had it but I can't remember if they ever fixed that, I think it was the fuel pickup to solid line flexible pipes.

the engine always started on the button though.

Uh fuel leak..? What..? Never seen any stains under the car when I've parked it? Might explain the smokey start up though as glow plugs haven't cured it. Where is this pipe? Under the car at the rear?

RE: Silverzx's White 205 1.9 DT XUD - GT2052V, 11mm & Much More! - welshpug - 11-01-2014

from above the tank under the rear seats, to under the car where it joins the metal pipes that go all the way up to the front.

one way to trace if a leak is causing issues, is to pop the bonnet and pump the priming bulb before you fire it up, you can also do this and listen and look for any leaks on the leakoff pipes, filter and lines etc.

We didn't notice any leaks when we fitted the Bosch.

I'll poke my head under the rear when I get a chance probably Monday.

Thanks to Dan for sorting me out a headlight, bumper and wing! Just a shame it's a GTi wing otherwise 10/10! Top guy!

Second replacement headlight, hopefully won't smash this one!

Lower half of bumper, needs a good TCut and wax or possibly paint:

And to top things off the alternator died on the way home tonight (the one that had the f--ked bearing) and also the corner that got hit is making some horrible knocking noises over bumps and under heavy'ish braking.

Fun day ahead tomorrow! Big Grin

RE: Silverzx's White 205 1.9 DT XUD - GT2052V, 11mm & Much More! - silverzx - 29-01-2014

So she's parked up looking sorry for herself.

Been stitched up on eBay with the wrong anti roll bar bush.

Ordered one into local motorfactors which I'm collecting tomorrow at 12, hopefully it fits!

Taking it off the road again & claiming tax back (in favour of the Datsun-200).

Will probably be looking to sell/part ex and get a 306DT if anyone's interested.

I'm not 100% decided but I do miss luxuries of a 306 and the availability of parts. Also having a mix match of parts is sometimes annoying as it can take a while to find parts for the girl.

So basically a 306 would be comfier, easier to find parts, more familiar to work on, newer, look better (IMO) and so on..

I'm sure it would be a beast if I continue with it but I don't know if I'm hardcore enough, it is an enthusiasts car, there's no luxuries in it, the seats are comfy but don't hold you well, the car feels retro/old/outdated inside. Don't get me wrong I love the car, just in two minds whether to "upgrade" to a 306 again now I've seen what 205's are about.

RE: Silverzx's White 205 1.9 DT XUD - GT2052V, 11mm & Much More! - Pugmarshall - 29-01-2014

I took my 205 off the road for that Cherry Dturbo I had... Did 8k miles without any trouble and got bored within 10 weeks! Now in a stripped out, broken 106 and I have no regrets.

RE: Silverzx's White 205 1.9 DT XUD - GT2052V, 11mm & Much More! - maffy - 02-02-2014

If you are for breaking the 205 I will take the 11mm Bosch setup Smile I dont post here very often, just use the site for info etc. Got a td04 ready to get on the 306 next week and could do with a good pump. 07708547762 if you do decide to sell up.

RE: Silverzx's White 205 1.9 DT XUD - GT2052V, 11mm & Much More! - silverzx - 12-11-2014

This needs a pump, so will put a standard 9mm Bosch on (will have a go at gov modding it first).

And might have a go at chucking the GT2052V on it using the pikey "1-2 inch scaffolding extension / turbo relocation / spacer" method that Ruan used backed in the day along with a flipped VAC can. Big Grin

OFC the 306 needs to be moved out of the "work shop" and finished but thought I'd give this some love when I can. Mainly it would benefit from a jet wash as it's covered in a fair bit of mold at the moment and is a lovely shade of green.

Mark, your going to be impressed to know that the handbrake appears to be frozen solid. Big Grin

Anyway, there you have it, if anyone has a 205 GTI body kit (arches, sides, rear bumper) they want to part with then hit me up.
