Re: B-road basher - Grant - 15-05-2012 Post up what ya found!!! Cars looking good ginge. I dont often like phase 1's, but for you I'll make an exception! Good work. Re: B-road basher - ginge191 - 15-05-2012 Grant Wrote:Post up what ya found!!! you never showed me your's so im not showing mine ![]() but thanks, trying to not make it look to gash and OTT Re: B-road basher - Grant - 15-05-2012 ginge191 Wrote:you never showed me your's so im not showing mine Giggedy ![]() Looks good mate, what else is on the cards before FCS? Re: B-road basher - ginge191 - 15-05-2012 Grant Wrote:ginge191 Wrote:you never showed me your's so im not showing mine well was the front brake setup, which i've got sorted now, audio install, front bumper (with cold air feed), quickshift, inline filter, and a few intereior parts to swap and move around. oh and an MBC and plasma dials at camping meet ![]() Should get it all sorted Re: B-road basher - ginge191 - 15-05-2012 Oh and my 5th speedline on the car, might even incorporate this into the boot install instead grant, what do ya think? Re: B-road basher - Grant - 15-05-2012 ginge191 Wrote:Oh and my 5th speedline on the car, might even incorporate this into the boot install instead grant, what do ya think? No. To put it in a word lol. Ive yet to see a good looking install incorporating a wheel :nope: There's a pukka place for it next to the exhaust, under the car ![]() Re: B-road basher - 4WayDiablo - 15-05-2012 Or a can of Holt's tire repair thingy :-) Re: B-road basher - ginge191 - 15-05-2012 Grant Wrote:There's a pukka place for it next to the exhaust, under the car but it'll get ruined and you won't be able to see it ![]() Re: B-road basher - Grant - 15-05-2012 Haha, roof or bonnet like defenders? Seriously though, i wouldnt put it in the intstall, would look a bit odd IMO. B-road basher - Matt - 15-05-2012 Wheels inside the car only look good if the cars stripped and the wheel Is in a net of some kind lol Re: B-road basher - Niall - 15-05-2012 4WayDiablo Wrote:Or a can of Holt's tire repair thingy :-) That stuffs shit. It ruins tyres, rarely works and what happens if you have a blowout or a big puncture? Not to mention it stinks! Re: B-road basher - ginge191 - 15-05-2012 Why am I repairing this tyre? Sorry. Re: B-road basher - Niall - 15-05-2012 ginge191 Wrote:Why am I repairing this tyre? Sorry. Your not. I'm arguing with Phil because he's talking out of his arse. Re: B-road basher - ginge191 - 15-05-2012 Standard. Re: B-road basher - ginge191 - 16-05-2012 So finihed uni for year 2, WINNING! So got home, and started taking the car apart to strip my injector. IC off, fuel lines off, 27mm socket on and damn, too short ![]() In the mean time, i set about spraying my bumper (all rub strips will be the same) ![]() Again, i can't crack on with the other parts, such as moving boost gauge (with no running car to test it), installing quickshift (without a running car again..) Re: B-road basher - ginge191 - 17-05-2012 So, this arived today, happy as i was - very good shape and great workmanship on it. quite impressed... Only thing is it was an absoloute PAIN IN THE ARSE to fit... perhaps it was my boost gauge? i don't know, but i had to cut my old vent to pieces; as the mount was too high, the vent has a small ridge (where the top 'points' clip into the vent, and the actual dash, and where it was high, my boost gauge would sit deep enough... anyway, just drilled the hell out of it, snips, and cut away enough to fit it. AND my biggest achievement was rewiring it all by myself! ![]() i know, doesn't sound much, but i was chuffed Also had 4m of cable, for some engine re-wiring Re: B-road basher - Grant - 17-05-2012 Pic fail? Bumper looks much better with it being re-blacked. Top work. Also, why can you not do the quickshift if the car is not working? Just sit in the seat and make car noises if it helps lol Re: B-road basher - ginge191 - 17-05-2012 and yeh, pics arnt uploading.. also, the doorbell just went and got a HUGE box through the post ![]() I'll get some pics up later, got work and grant ![]() Re: B-road basher - ginge191 - 17-05-2012 And finally the pics... BEFORE ![]() DURING ![]() AFTER: ![]() ![]() Re: B-road basher - Grant - 18-05-2012 Love it! Re: B-road basher - mark_airey - 18-05-2012 Ginge.............turn demo mode off on your head unit FFS ![]() Looking good, the bumper crack I would fiberglass behind the bumper where you can't see it and then filler the front ![]() Temp probe into the TMIC idea, if you want to give it a try I can bring you a top mount to FCS that you can have if you want it? Car progress is looking good, as for weights inside the wheel............would you prefer them hammered over the edge of your wheel ![]() Re: B-road basher - ginge191 - 18-05-2012 mark_airey Wrote:Ginge.............turn demo mode off on your head unit FFS Yeh mark, it was where the HU had been unplugged, i dont enjoy watching what it has on offer ![]() As for the bumper, when i head up to niall/grants , we're goiong to get some plastice welding on the back, the crack itself matches and joins quite well, so i may be able to get away with it. see what happens. as for the wheel weights, most wheels have at least 2/3 weights on each, and if it was a small amount of noise, i would put up with it - but it's like i had a badger stuck to the wheels, witih a MENTAL thud every time the wheel took a rotation, at 30, its bad, 40.. scary.. and over that you can't speak... Re: B-road basher - mark_airey - 18-05-2012 I did wonder TBH mate ![]() Fair play if your going to do it that way, I would key the back of it with 80girt paper and then line it up and add a few layers of fiberglass to the back of it to give it strength then maybe fill the crack with plastic weld and sand back flush....... With the weights, it won't take long for the calliper to "machine down" the weights to a perfect fit, and if you think 2 or 3 weights is bad you want to look at my ronals........... ![]() Re: B-road basher - Grant - 18-05-2012 ginge191 Wrote:but it's like i had a badger stuck to the wheels, Oh mate! You would not beleive how mad it drives me when i have a badger stuck on my wheel! ![]() WTF?!?! ![]() Frequent occurance on the Isle of Wight? lol Re: B-road basher - ginge191 - 18-05-2012 Grant Wrote:ginge191 Wrote:but it's like i had a badger stuck to the wheels, hahaha you know when you hit a badger/fox (any four legged animal is fine) and it #2JUDADAADADADADAUDUADADAD" noise  Re: B-road basher - thms182 - 18-05-2012 That's as close to fast food as we have down here ![]() Re: B-road basher - ginge191 - 18-05-2012 Re: B-road basher - Matt - 18-05-2012 Best noise description ever!!!!! Hahaha Re: B-road basher - ginge191 - 18-05-2012 Because im a chav... ![]() Re: B-road basher - 4WayDiablo - 18-05-2012 audio looks nice! im not sold on the boost gauge housing though |
