That's not a bad idea though, would mean I don't need bracing of any kind as I can rivet plates over the original dash, and wouldn't be any hassle having to relocate wiring etc

Metal that's .5mm comes in rolls in tins. You use it to shim gaps to make it tighter. Or copper sheeting if your feeling rich

Could use tin foil Smile

RE: The Meatwagon - Stephen - 03-03-2013

Or coke cans :p

The Meatwagon - kentiiboii - 03-03-2013

Bear cans sound better

Yeah I thought afterwards should of said beer, I don't drink it though so automatically put coke cans :p

Also I don't think you should put the plates straight but I do think you should run over them a few times to give them a 'been bashing zombies' look

£30 posted, including the lamps. Probably sell them on as it's a bit overkill lmao

RE: The Meatwagon - samass - 03-03-2013

Hmm.... Curious as to how you'll actually fit that..

RE: The Meatwagon - bingham123456 - 03-03-2013

Win/

Bolt to lower crossmember, bodge the rest. Simples.

did i read that correctly? coming from you?

RE: The Meatwagon - samass - 03-03-2013

Lots and lots of cable ties then eh?

RE: The Meatwagon - Dum-Dum - 03-03-2013

Chris QR pin the bull bar to the cross member as its pretty stupid having a QR bumper with a bull bar stopping you QR'ing it.

The car is starting to grow on me now though.

Any chance youd PM me your address as I might be up in Scotland at the end of the week. I dont particularly want to see you but im gonna straighten up your number plates for you.

RE: The Meatwagon - Tallguy_2 - 03-03-2013

This thing is f*cking insane, it's not really something I'd usuall like but I love it!

RE: The Meatwagon - Slam Wagon - 04-03-2013

Leave the lights on the bull bar, and definitely need ruin those plates a bit if you want to keep them wonkey.

RE: The Meatwagon - cwspellowe - 04-03-2013

I dunno, I might strap the number plate to the bull bars and do away with the lights.. we'll see. Priority is fitting the bull bars though!

RE: The Meatwagon - sam - 04-03-2013

this defo needs banded steels in its life!!! ever thought about the American police lights on the top off the wing that's on a pivet?

RE: The Meatwagon - cwspellowe - 04-03-2013

Nahhh I have enough lights on it now, running out of switches lmao

Think I might wire the glowplugs to a push button as my relay's died again. Stupid f*cking shitheap of a car, I swear it's trying to kill itself.

I was looking at banded steels too, roughly 10j for the same offset. The steels wouldn't be that expensive, tyres though? Oouch.

RE: The Meatwagon - Scott - 04-03-2013

10j?! lol

RE: The Meatwagon - procta - 04-03-2013

leave the lamps on the bull bar, gives you extra full beam support. i may have a loom from the rover you could bodge to the 306 lights system, as it a relay for the spots and wiring to the battary.

RE: The Meatwagon - Seid' - 04-03-2013

I have noticed you have painted with montana sprays. you have done any finish? varnish (?) or something else, ou is just spray?

RE: The Meatwagon - cwspellowe - 04-03-2013

Just spray mate, no primer, no clear coat. Don't want immaculate paint Smile

Procta i've wired up the lamps to main beam using a relay anyway so i'm all good cheers Smile

RE: The Meatwagon - Seid' - 04-03-2013

And you have used what cap? I'm thinking on the Astro Fat Cap.

RE: The Meatwagon - cwspellowe - 04-03-2013

Standard caps for base coats, then use level 6 fat caps (dark green, pink dot) for a final coat for a more even finish

RE: The Meatwagon - Connor - 04-03-2013

Overkill? No such thing... Pfft! Fanny
