No-wonder the bugger was moving!
Anyhow, new one fitted now.
Those ripp braces are epic for improving the handling of the car, but feck me they make it a PITA to get the front wishbone bolts out lol

Re: China XS, Shed to shiner - 4WayDiablo - 23-05-2012

meyle hd time?

Re: China XS, Shed to shiner - Grant - 23-05-2012

Or roller bearing bushes...
Either way, it sickens me that i drove home from ace on that!

Re: China XS, Shed to shiner - 4WayDiablo - 23-05-2012

lol, didnt have much of a choice though

Re: China XS, Shed to shiner - Scott - 23-05-2012

If I'd known it was that bad I'd have taken you up to Midnight Motors (few minutes from Ace - open til 10) and got a new one and fitted it at Ace! Christ.

Group buy on HD wishbones? whistle

Re: China XS, Shed to shiner - samass - 23-05-2012

meh, not even that bad lol

Re: China XS, Shed to shiner - Grant - 28-05-2012

So a very productive weekend this time round. Started Friday eve by replacing the car park dent ridden doors.

Such a laugh driving the car like this. If you have a private test track to do it on, I strongly recommend it for lol's!

Up early Saturday, down to the breakers yard with Scott for some ninjaness. Saw this thing on the way back

Must have been a race on locally or something as we saw quite a few pretty tasty looking race cars being trailered about.

After getting back from curts the doors were sound deadened and where the leakers sat was dynamtted:

Also replaces the rear bumper. Can anyone spot the ninja mod? It's probably not that hard haha. Oh and I will be removing the spare wheel sticker:

Re: China XS, Shed to shiner - Niall - 28-05-2012

Believe me you don't!

Re: China XS, Shed to shiner - David - 28-05-2012

and why is this?

Re: China XS, Shed to shiner - Grant - 28-05-2012

The car tried driving itself away lol.

It was my pikey wiring, some insulator tape had come unstuck in this extreme heat were having, shorting the start relay. Fixed now as the cranked is switched from a switch live, opposed to a constant 12v feed.

Re: China XS, Shed to shiner - Ruan - 28-05-2012

That's actually fecking hilarious.

Sorry.

I bet it was your pikey wiring that was the reason those airbags didn't go off.

I are dissapoint Sad

Re: China XS, Shed to shiner - Grant - 28-05-2012

Did you not see the pictures I put up of how far it had got? Haha

RE: China XS, Shed to shiner - Grant - 18-06-2012

So I picked up some shiney from Ed last week, set about getting it straight.

Got a strut brace from him. Slight bit of surface rust. No biggie. The more alarming fact was its slight shade of some gay diablo related colour. Also being Ed's i think it was tapping a little, so a refurb was needed:

So it got sanded back to the metal, Zinc primered, and repainted:

Unsurprisingly in china:

Also picked up these bad boys from FCS, thanks El_Sid!

And these from Baker BM:

Excuse the crappy phone pictures. Within the next 4 weeks i have the following to fit:

-Engine
-Rear Beam
-GTi6 brakes
-Quickshift
-Oil Catch tank
-Eccentric top mounts
-Ninja exhaust modifications

And more I've probably forgotten. Best get busy Dodgy

RE: China XS, Shed to shiner - Scott - 18-06-2012

So when's the engine change occurring Wink Best get the bacon in and I'll be down to do what I can!

RE: China XS, Shed to shiner - Grant - 18-06-2012

Cheers mate, help would be appreciated Smile weekend of the 7/8th July

Edited for accuracy.

RE: China XS, Shed to shiner - Grant - 21-06-2012

Actually seriously tempted by the compbrake 4 pots. Not worth it until the beast is charged though. '6 brakes will suffice for now...

RE: China XS, Shed to shiner - Grant - 10-07-2012

Been pretty quiet for a couple of weeks now. The car has been on the back-burner with more pressing real life matters at hand.

Got a lot of catching up to do! Massive pile of shineys to fit, but first up a new gearbox, after the original went kerput...

The culpret.

Thats two 306 gearboxes ive seen in my possession now with the same defective ring....

And i think another hole was about to open up looking at it

Clutch alignment tool

Just got to get the new bastard gearbox back in. Proving rather interesting seeing as I'm being a tightarse and wont get an engine crane...

New rear beam to fit too. My back garden is beginning to look like a breakers yard:

Also went to Curts last weekend to get a few bits off Ed's gayablo '6

Ed getting stroppy after we kept shooting him with a BB gun ninja

306 bodykit
[Image: 7b156038.jpg]
And beleive it or not, Adam doing work on his car Hmm

RE: China XS, Shed to shiner - Ed Doe - 10-07-2012

Fuuuuu on the diablo-related comments Tongue

And FLOL @ how stroppy Fooby looks at actually having to work on his own car lmao

China XS, Shed to shiner - kentiiboii - 10-07-2012

Looks like fooby getting ready to twat the camera man.

RE: China XS, Shed to shiner - Grant - 10-07-2012

Haha was an, interesting, day...

Seemed to get quite a lot done.

On other news the new box in is, bolted on, and the engine is supporting itself. The drivers side driveshaft is in, and the top half of the engine bay is back together. Just gotta do the other driveshaft, flywheel cover, re-route some hoses and wires, fill with oil and test it all out, then pray to feck it doesn't leak oil from anywhere...

I am never changing a gearbox again without an engine crane. Most stupidest idea ever....

RE: China XS, Shed to shiner - Grant - 12-07-2012

So the car is working again. To cut a long story short it had a little hiccup, I was close to chucking a match into the thing, but we've pulled through. f*cking thing lol.

Had more shineys turn up today too

And saw an epic bit of marketing at the local sainsburys

Plans for this weekend, weather and time permitting

Fit gti brakes
Fit new rear beam, and solid rear beam mounts
Fit eccentric top mounts
Fit bucket seats if they turn up in time
Strip back of car out

Busy busy!

RE: China XS, Shed to shiner - samass - 12-07-2012

nice. you doing this sat? im bored off my tits with everyone away for summer, need a hand (job)?

RE: China XS, Shed to shiner - Grant - 12-07-2012

Was thinking more along the lines of a blow job? Maybe after our cock fight sat?

So in other words I'm doing it all Sunday if you want in haha

RE: China XS, Shed to shiner - samass - 13-07-2012

sounds like a motherloving plan.
