Scrap yard, ebay etc. They did 2 types tapered holes and flat seated bolt holes so make sure there the same.

I was comparing the 205 GTI wheels to TD Pro races to say there heavy. The TD pro races are noticeable lighter than GTI wheels.
Never knew about the C5 wheels interesting though...

My only concern with the c5 wheels is ventilation. Ive looked on some forums and there have been a few cases of people frying brakes on track due to bad ventilation due to the wheels

Think you'll be ok on a 106 to be honest mate. I'd look out for a set, 4.7kg compared to about 8/9kg for most other 15 inch wheels.

Yeah helped a mate do it to his track 306 once,just buy some ducting hoseing for a tenner.
We also removed most of the lower grille in the bumper and used a mesh type of thing so air can get through but road dirt and leaves can't.
Thought of running a oil cooler aswell ?

one of the racing metros had that done do his racing car, I wasn't a loud to take photos. But they said it was a test idea. As they had a set of alloys that were pretty poor from getting heat away from the brakes, something I have thought about doing with my car, as I run wide steelies.

Yeah I think it will really help, I'm going to use just the hose for it's first test and if it helps them I'll make some sort of enclosure similar to that picture

Seen some nice carbon fibre ones on gt3 cars.

Were you seriously not allowed to take pics of brake cooling ducts? Proper cutting edge these metro boys.
I like the idea of that little spat to create a high-pressure area at the feed, rather neat. Don't buy the ducting and stuff from an automotive shop, you can get it for a third of the price when it's labelled up as aircon ducting for commercial use or similar.

yeah poodle, the racers dads exact words were, you can copy the idea but from memory, no disrespect to you. But we like to keep little ideas like that to our selves. That idea may have helped him get some pace, as the driver said we are testing the idea.
There are a few things that I have done on my car, that I haven't passed info on to the metro lot.
When I go to the metro 35/25 meet, my bonnet wont be opened. As far as they know mine is a 1.1s with gta rims on.

Thought I'd make a list of parts I'm planning for the track weapon
• Apex 50mm lowering springs
• Refurbed GTi beam lowered 50mm
• HDi front and rear callipers
• Braided lines
• Brembo disks
• Mintex pads
• Corbeau bucket seats
• Either Luke or Sparco harnesses
• OMP deep dish wheel and boss
• half cage
• Custom door cards and other little pieces
• Door straps/pulls
• Top strut brace
This is my basic idea of a great track car
I want it to be light and handle well, power will be a long term plan. Everything listed here will be done in a reasonably short period of time. If there's anything else you think is worth adding to the list let me know

all you want is oil and water. I have three to wire back in, oil temp, oil pressure and water temp. That's it, good to have to keep the eye on the running gear.

yeah, a live, earth and tap into a sensor. what I did was use the radio loom for the power and the car body for the earth, and then tapped into the water sensor. I found after market sender units I was using just packed up there and then, so just tapped into the ones already on the engine.

So not really any progress since my last post due to work and not having much money for parts. Most of my parts will be bought febuary onwards as I'm treating the 306 to some avo coilovers and Bosch pump so will have more 106 progress in the next month onwards. End of febuary I will have my new GTi rear beam and 50mm lowering springs. And end of this month I will have the plastic to make my door cards and a couple of blanking panels
