RE: Peugeot 206 - XUD9 Transplant - c.gerrard - 08-02-2014

If it was another 5.7 bhp, I would have been impressed.

Big Grin

Any idea what the 206 weighs in comparison to the 306?

RE: Peugeot 206 - XUD9 Transplant - Craigus - 09-02-2014

RE: Peugeot 206 - XUD9 Transplant - mr_fish - 09-02-2014

Cheers all,

Note sure Carl, I would like to say the 206 is lighter, will have to go on a hunt for a weighbridge and used a d turbo to compare. Thsi one will go on a diet soon though.

Your turn Craig, interesting to see what your little rocket is at.

Haha, I said if it comes to gearbox mount the turbo, sam, I'm taking it too far I reckon we could find that extra 5-6 horsepower though, think I should as whipped the air filter off... Undecided

Cheers Dave, as Kyle says, 19-20psi another 4-5 more should be about right then.

It's fairly rapid, suspension lets it down. Next job probably.

Videos Below.

1st one, I tried to show outside that the shed has a type of 'exhaust' on the roof thats why I moved. Fair Coal though

2nd one, just a clip of the turbo spooling and loading up (you can hear the vanes open)

RE: Peugeot 206 - XUD9 Transplant - ozonehostile - 09-02-2014

Is it just me or do the videos not work?

Anyway, Awsome result man :-)

RE: Peugeot 206 - XUD9 Transplant - Jimbo - 09-02-2014

Worked for me :/

RE: Peugeot 206 - XUD9 Transplant - Dave - 09-02-2014

Bahahaha!! that is chronic!! the sound that thing makes when the vanes open up, imagine that tonking past off a roundabout when some barryboys in a paxo cube is trying to gun it...

RE: Peugeot 206 - XUD9 Transplant - mikey b - 09-02-2014

The engine makes. The car better lol

RE: Peugeot 206 - XUD9 Transplant - Poodle - 09-02-2014

The 206s are a shade lighter than the equivalent 306. Great result on the dyno there mate, be well chuffed with that!

RE: Peugeot 206 - XUD9 Transplant - Tom - 09-02-2014

Cracking result Mark!

RE: Peugeot 206 - XUD9 Transplant - zx_volcane - 09-02-2014

Practically 200bhp there, and what a torque curve!

get it wound up to 25psi Big Grin

RE: Peugeot 206 - XUD9 Transplant - mr_fish - 17-02-2014

Popped down to Bude (North Cornwall) the other evening to see some relations, thought I would take this 206. Was about 120 miles for the round trip and it didn't miss a beat which I was pleased about. Economical as anything on the dual carridgeway, but as soon as you hit the B roads, on and off the power, economy takes a considerable drop. Probably due to me just liking to hear the vanes open. lol

So, with that, the XUD was due the old oil service

Then I dropped the gearbox out...as you do

Never used one of those bars across the top of the bay before but it actually works rather well.

Frosty popped round one weekend and we, removed the oil pump and pushed out the pistons and rods out of the Xantia engine

Carefully placed in the bin

Shows if you keep on top of the oil changes, you can see the results.

Can't stand the HDi box anymore. Ideal for a long run but the FD is a bit long for my liking now.

Fairly black...plenty of derv there.

Its the sump of the Xantia engine, hellishly clean compared to the sludge I found in the current engine's one when I resealed it.

RE: Peugeot 206 - XUD9 Transplant - c.gerrard - 17-02-2014

I've been meaning to ask you a boring efficiency question and never got round to it lol

Just curious, never really noticed a difference between how it was when I first got mine, stage 1 and all the way to how it finished up and I guess that's because it was still rather efficient.

With only you and zx_volcane pushing around the 200 mark (that I can think of) guess it's something that has never really been covered.
