Re: No hairdressing equipment left in this vehicle overnight - samass - 23-03-2012

which will inevitably happen!
looking good on the rust war, apparently my sister has some on hers, think she paying for me to go up to aberdeen to investigate

Re: No hairdressing equipment left in this vehicle overnight - Fozzy - 23-03-2012

If you can see the rust from the outside that could be a bad sign for whats hiding elsewhere. Ide check to make sure the drain holes in the seals aren't blocked.

If you plan on taking the wings off to check under them be prepared for a few snapped bolts, they are like cheese.

Re: No hairdressing equipment left in this vehicle overnight - samass - 23-03-2012

cool, thanks for the heads up! think ill get her to send me some photos, didnt quite get where she was describing it

Re: No hairdressing equipment left in this vehicle overnight - Fozzy - 02-04-2012

Well ive had lots of uni work to be doing so what better way to get it done than to go outside and avoid it.........

Let the Lowering commence

First off removing the old rusty shocks

Not paying attention and get 3 and four coils in the clamps.

Not really any inbetween shots as too busy fitting and didnt have a decent camera on me

Fronts done, rears to go. I also undersealed the arch and quick lick of paint on the wishbones, nothing special though.

Think may have to raise the front a little once it all settles.

Re: No hairdressing equipment left in this vehicle overnight - Scott - 02-04-2012

Looks awesome, especially with the hardtop and wheels being colour coded

No hairdressing equipment left in this vehicle overnight - Matt - 02-04-2012

Looks sweet mate! Smile

Re: No hairdressing equipment left in this vehicle overnight - samass - 03-04-2012

noishe. lows are good

Re: No hairdressing equipment left in this vehicle overnight - Dum-Dum - 03-04-2012

Looks really tidy mate.

Re: No hairdressing equipment left in this vehicle overnight - Fozzy - 03-04-2012

Thanks people Smile

Scott- They wont be staying colour coded, roof is going black in summer (emma wants to spray it) not sure if thats a good idea to let her loose on it.

In my lunch hour away from uni coursework, ok more like two hours, i got this done. Also been driving recklessly around the drive and garden as i love the sound of it.

And before someone says it, i know the wheel is on the wrong way

Its not actually a low as i thought, got about 80mm of clearance under the car.

Re: No hairdressing equipment left in this vehicle overnight - 4WayDiablo - 03-04-2012

is that wheel on the wrong way? Tongue

also is that a fake tail pipe?

Re: No hairdressing equipment left in this vehicle overnight - Fozzy - 03-04-2012

haha, you so funny phil,

Its real, exhaust gas just prefers the left pipe before its warmed up.

Re: No hairdressing equipment left in this vehicle overnight - mark_airey - 03-04-2012

Looks fooking sweet! good work Big Grin

Re: No hairdressing equipment left in this vehicle overnight - Poodle - 04-04-2012

Two more votes from Charli and I for keeping the roof white, love the contrast. Looks much better for lows though, and do like those wheels.

Re: No hairdressing equipment left in this vehicle overnight - Fozzy - 04-04-2012

The roof is going black, it will look so much smarter trust me, when ive finished uni and actually have some time i will get it painted, and you will agree

Just to give an idea

Re: No hairdressing equipment left in this vehicle overnight - Matt - 05-04-2012

no to the spoiler!!!! looks pants!

Re: No hairdressing equipment left in this vehicle overnight - samass - 05-04-2012

this was exactly my train of thought, at first i was like 'haha look at that spoiler' then i was like 'hmm....' now im like 'ew.'

Re: No hairdressing equipment left in this vehicle overnight - Fozzy - 05-04-2012

Nah, no spoiler, it doesn't look right and its far to expensive for a bent bit of acrylic.

Re: No hairdressing equipment left in this vehicle overnight - Fozzy - 08-04-2012

Well, as emma is down this easter weekend, i decided i would put her to work prepping the hardtop for its colour change, it was in a bad way with lots of paint flaking off, but this is how it sits at the moment, had to empty the shed of the rallye as its raining.

Re: No hairdressing equipment left in this vehicle overnight - Fozzy - 11-04-2012

The hardtop hasn't turned out as well as i hoped, it needs more of the original paint removing as it has bubbled up Sad But here is what it looks like now.

And here is the fail Sad

Re: No hairdressing equipment left in this vehicle overnight - Fozzy - 11-04-2012

Front bumper back on to keep the wet weather out the engine bay, had a lil problem the other morning when it wasn't firing on all 4 cylinders. Was fine once the fog had lifted.

Looks like the ride height isn't as impractical as i first thought, the splitter has loads of clearance

Re: No hairdressing equipment left in this vehicle overnight - springs - 11-04-2012

looking good there.. would be cool to put this up against my scooby..

was going to get an MX5 or a scooby but all the MX5'S Weren't the best or were expensive.

Re: No hairdressing equipment left in this vehicle overnight - Fozzy - 12-04-2012

Hehe, your scooby would make this car look like a toy.

Re: No hairdressing equipment left in this vehicle overnight - 4WayDiablo - 12-04-2012

springs Wrote:looking good there.. would be cool to put this up against my scooby..

dum dum struggled to fit in an mx-5, you would have no hope surely?

Re: No hairdressing equipment left in this vehicle overnight - Fozzy - 12-04-2012

I only just fit in, i have the seat in a much more reclined position than ide like to drive in but you get used to it. Just need longer arms to reach the wheel, am after getting a deep dish wheel soon

Re: No hairdressing equipment left in this vehicle overnight - Fozzy - 16-05-2012

Not really an update just an idea ive been thinking of for a while now, i thought i would push myself into starting by bidding on this

I didn't actually think i would win it Confused

Now this idea may just fall on its face or i might actually see it through. It's not going to be cheap, or happen quickly, i plan to collect parts slowly and hopefully cheaper, and in the end spend less than i would buying a kit thats already made.

Re: No hairdressing equipment left in this vehicle overnight - Ben Jay - 16-05-2012

how much did it go for?
