RE: White phase 1, now with added truck turbo - ozonehostile - 24-11-2012 Had a bash at the roof dent today (get it?) also aquired some glass removal/fitting tools so thats tommorrrows job along with "borrowing" some filler from work ![]() RE: White phase 1, now with added truck turbo - ozonehostile - 24-11-2012 Anyway, since I don't have an awful lot to do currently I thought I would upload some requested pictures: first up, Turbo downpipe ![]() Next, for darrenjlobb, the exhaust under the car: ![]() ![]() Gearbox turbo mount: ![]() battery relocation: ![]() And finally, A VIDEO!!!!!!! its not very exciting or good quality, just me driving to the pub, only worth watching the first 40 seconds just for a little taster of the acceleration, not even ragging it, just pulling out of a junction on a soaking wet muddy road. and its bloody loud ![]() ![]() And this picture, just because I like it ![]() RE: White phase 1, now with added truck turbo - Stephen - 24-11-2012 Love it mate. Looks awesome RE: White phase 1, now with added truck turbo - Tom - 24-11-2012 Is your exhaust made of that thin flexable shit? What bore is it all the way through? Obviously the tail pipe is 4" :p RE: White phase 1, now with added truck turbo - ozonehostile - 24-11-2012 Its proper truck exhaust hose, pretty thick tbh, ive scraped it on speed bumps numerous times and it hasnt split or deformed, its 4 inch all the way through with a shiny tip over the end just where it goes under the bumper, doubt i could physically get any bigger diameter pipe under the car as its an incredibly tight fit, completely fills the tunnel and knocks on the bulkhead when the engine moves , but i love it ![]() RE: White phase 1, now with added truck turbo - Seid' - 24-11-2012 mate, how many hp? RE: White phase 1, now with added truck turbo - ozonehostile - 24-11-2012 (24-11-2012, 08:58 PM)Seid Wrote: mate, how many hp? no idea how many horses yet, it has yet to be taken on the rolling road. Will be taking it for a run in January though RE: White phase 1, now with added truck turbo - ozonehostile - 25-11-2012 Looking at the rear of the car ive been putting myself off the idea of the black strip on the bumper, so i did a quick photoshop on a coffee break at work to see what it would look like color coded. I think il do it now, i like it ![]() ![]() ![]() RE: White phase 1, now with added truck turbo - Tom - 25-11-2012 (24-11-2012, 06:39 PM)ozonehostile Wrote: Its proper truck exhaust hose, pretty thick tbh, ive scraped it on speed bumps numerous times and it hasnt split or deformed, its 4 inch all the way through with a shiny tip over the end just where it goes under the bumper, doubt i could physically get any bigger diameter pipe under the car as its an incredibly tight fit, completely fills the tunnel and knocks on the bulkhead when the engine moves , but i love it Im thinking you work with trucks? I work on Chinooks You name it, we probably make something for it. one thing that comes in mind with chinooks is a radome dish that goes on the underside, bright orange about a meter across, contains a gps emercency locator beacon if the aircraft goes down. probably some static dischargers and multiband comms antennas on there too RE: White phase 1, now with added truck turbo - Just Sean - 25-11-2012 small world! ![]() RE: White phase 1, now with added truck turbo - Dave - 25-11-2012 Out of interest, your twin entry setup is that divided or combined throughout your manifold? RE: White phase 1, now with added truck turbo - ozonehostile - 25-11-2012 (25-11-2012, 09:11 PM)Dave Wrote: Out of interest, your twin entry setup is that divided or combined throughout your manifold? The manifold all feeds into one pipe. I did some investigating Into separating the cylinders into pairs before entering the turbo but figured it would make no difference to spool Up time as the engine this turbo is for is a 6 cylinder big displacement thing, so on that yes, separating the feed to the turbo would be beneficial to a quicker spool, but not on a 4 pot 1905cc. Sorry for the essay lol RE: White phase 1, now with added truck turbo - Dave - 25-11-2012 How far to the runners go from your head before they join into one? RE: White phase 1, now with added truck turbo - ozonehostile - 25-11-2012 (25-11-2012, 09:37 PM)Dave Wrote: How far to the runners go from your head before they join into one? The pipes have been designed to be as straight as they can given the space (or lack of) availible for ultimate gas flow, no complex of bends and curves like you get on a turbo petrol engine as a diesel works better with shorter straight pipes in my opinion, so they all come out of the block at an angle then curve upwards into one pipe before entering the turbo if you understand what i mean? RE: White phase 1, now with added truck turbo - Tallguy_2 - 25-11-2012 You diesel boys! Fair play to you! I like this, it's just........ Well....... different! Be better than colour coded IMO. Was it you that wanted a ph1 fibreglass bonnet? One on eBay atm - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Peugeot-306-Fibreglass-Bonnet-Skin-Race-Track-Car-/281030492910?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item416eb902ee RE: White phase 1, now with added truck turbo - ozonehostile - 27-11-2012 (27-11-2012, 02:47 PM)Ben Wrote: I think gloss black bumper strips and side strips would make this look a huge amount better. Ive always hated the rear bumper, wanting to replace it with a phase 2 or 3 gti6 one, all white with the exhaust cutout to stop it melting....again lol RE: White phase 1, now with added truck turbo - Ben - 27-11-2012 A cut out for the exhaust would improve the look certainly, and 4inch tips fit in the cut outs pretty well. I like black side strips because they sort of link the black wheels if you know what I mean (might just be me!) RE: White phase 1, now with added truck turbo - ozonehostile - 27-11-2012 Yeah I get you, just not my taste. Further thoughts on the rear end, been contemplating phase 3 rear lights to match the headlights and painting the spoiler white its already got overspray on it so mayaswel carry on. Maybe a de-wiper too RE: White phase 1, now with added truck turbo - Seid' - 28-11-2012 dude, make a better video plz to show to my friends, have some who dont believe you have a truck turbo lol can you make a video of you acceleration?
