Well are the rods based on XUD ones or HDI ones?
You cant mix and match the bearings as there different, the tabs dont line up. The HDI bearings are better as the load high one is made from a better material.

XUD ones.
The bearings are nigh on identical according to various machine shops I've spoken to.

lol trust me there different,
You can notch the conrods to make them fit as obviously there the same size, but they wont just plug and play...im only saying so people dont order them up thinking they will.

As said, they will fit with XUD shells..
Alternatively as this will be a new order, we could do them with HDi. Up to the masses tbh?

The uprated bearings Lynx sell are essentially the same as HDi shells... They're sputter bearings FYI...
Easiest way to tell a set of HDi bearings - the top shell looks different to the lower shell.
However, HDI shells are almost the same price as the uprated Lynx ones, because of this.

Not as good of course, but much cheaper...
But you can get uprated sputter ones at least... But then I've never yet seen someone spin a big end shell on an XUD9 - if they have spun a shell, they're using wank oil or it's too hot.

Why would you be worried about the cost of bearings when you're rebuilding a high compression engine with £600+ worth of Conrod alone in it?

I'm doing both.
Getting money back from the company I sorted it with, as they are wayyy too expensive and sorting something out for the few of us who are still interested with the company who made Darren's.
