Re: Forged Rods group buy - Connor - 17-04-2012 240 i believe, so another 405 to pay? Re: Forged Rods group buy - jammapic - 17-04-2012 Some people paid all up front, some people paid the minimum deposit. Re: Forged Rods group buy - darrenjlobb - 17-04-2012 Well are the rods based on XUD ones or HDI ones? You cant mix and match the bearings as there different, the tabs dont line up. The HDI bearings are better as the load high one is made from a better material. Re: Forged Rods group buy - jammapic - 17-04-2012 XUD ones. The bearings are nigh on identical according to various machine shops I've spoken to. JP Re: Forged Rods group buy - darrenjlobb - 17-04-2012 lol trust me there different, You can notch the conrods to make them fit as obviously there the same size, but they wont just plug and play...im only saying so people dont order them up thinking they will. Re: Forged Rods group buy - jammapic - 17-04-2012 As said, they will fit with XUD shells.. Alternatively as this will be a new order, we could do them with HDi. Up to the masses tbh? JP Re: Forged Rods group buy - Jacko - 17-04-2012 Get some uprated bearings from rich w who owns lynx engineering? That's what I got. Think they're £120 iirc ![]() Re: Forged Rods group buy - Ruan - 18-04-2012 The uprated bearings Lynx sell are essentially the same as HDi shells... They're sputter bearings FYI... Easiest way to tell a set of HDi bearings - the top shell looks different to the lower shell. However, HDI shells are almost the same price as the uprated Lynx ones, because of this. Re: Forged Rods group buy - jammapic - 18-04-2012 That's why I went for XUD... cheaper. Re: Forged Rods group buy - Ruan - 18-04-2012 Not as good of course, but much cheaper... But you can get uprated sputter ones at least... But then I've never yet seen someone spin a big end shell on an XUD9 - if they have spun a shell, they're using wank oil or it's too hot. Re: Forged Rods group buy - Jacko - 19-04-2012 jammapic Wrote:That's why I went for XUD... cheaper. Why would you be worried about the cost of bearings when you're rebuilding a high compression engine with £600+ worth of Conrod alone in it? I looked into the PayPal history the other day and my uprated bearings cost £115 posted ![]() Re: Forged Rods group buy - Dave - 22-04-2012 What's the situation with these then?, are you waiting for a refund from them or waiting to see if others are interested? ... Re: Forged Rods group buy - jammapic - 22-04-2012 I'm doing both. Getting money back from the company I sorted it with, as they are wayyy too expensive and sorting something out for the few of us who are still interested with the company who made Darren's. JP Re: Forged Rods group buy - d-jimbo - 23-04-2012 how much have u managed to get em for in the end then? Re: Forged Rods group buy - Connor - 23-04-2012 What's the plan for bearings then? Re: Forged Rods group buy - Pompey306mark - 23-04-2012 I am going to need a refund. Sorry need the money for something else now. Re: Forged Rods group buy - Dan! - 23-04-2012 *refund Re: Forged Rods group buy - Daniel306 - 14-06-2012 Im not out but i need a refund, id prefer to have my money in my pocket Re: Forged Rods group buy - jammapic - 14-06-2012 So you are out then? =) I think I'm going to just give up on this and stomach the fact I've lost money on the tech drawings. PM me your details and I'll send the money back. jp RE: Forged Rods group buy - Daniel306 - 25-06-2012 Didi send you that Pm? iv not had the money back yet RE: Forged Rods group buy - Daniel306 - 25-07-2012 Any progress on getting these sorted.
